Hermes William Del-Sette Jr.

GLENS FALLS — Hermes William Del-Sette Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 8 2015at Glens Falls Hospital.

 

Hermes was born in Saratoga Springs to Ermete and Rose Del-Sette on Sept. 24, 1937.

He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School and studied at the University of Miami. He worked for Prudential Insurance Company and earned admission to the coveted Million Dollar Round Table. He also worked briefly for Stewart’s Shops as a spokesperson. Hermes retired from the Capital District Transportation Authority. He loved his cat Kiki, shooting the breeze and cooking. His sense of humor and wit will be missed.

 

Survivors include his brother and his wife, Elio and Lois Del-Sette of Saratoga Springs; his sons, Hermes W. Del-Sette III and his wife Joy of Sloansville, Andrew Del-Sette and his girlfriend Lisa Caringi of Lake George, and his daughter Stephanie Del-Sette of Troy.   

He was predeceased by his son, Mark and his parents Ermete and Rose.

Relatives and friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. A life celebration will be held in conjunction with the visitation at the home of his brother, located at 15 Rock St., just steps from the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Upstate New York, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
