Walter S. DeNew Jr.
SCHUYLERVILLE – Walter S. DeNew Jr. 85, a resident of Jones Rd. in Wilton, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 28, 1930 in Ballston Spa to the late Walter and Helen DeNew.
Walter enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sports games. He was a lifetime member of the Maple Avenue Firehouse No. 4 in Wilton. Walter loved music, dancing, and playing his guitar. His greatest joys in life were his family, the firehouse, and Stewart’s Convenience Stores.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Beverly DeNew and sister Josephine DeNew.
He is survived by his daughters Mary Jo Clothier and Dale (Steve Madden) DeNew; grandchildren Charles (Stacey) Clothier, Jennifer Clothier, Christopher (Elena) Allen, Nicole Gray, Erin Madden, Rebecca Madden; five great-granddaughters; brother Charles (Crystal) DeNew; sister Joan VanEpps.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home in Schuylerville; the Rev. Martin Fisher officiated. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, also in Schuylerville.
