Saratoga Springs, NY – George J. Vincek Jr., 84, died suddenly Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Born October 11, 1927, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late George J. and Kristina Gavenda Vincek, Sr. George worked for the International Paper Company in Corinth as a machine operator for 24 years. He enjoyed farming and operated his own saw mill. George was a communicant and usher at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Greenfield Center for 30 years.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his son, George Joseph Vincek and granddaughter, Monica Vincek.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rita Mehalak Vincek; daughter, Maria (Timothy Breakell) Vincek; sons, John (Laura), Paul (Vicky) and Andrew Vincek; brother, Edward (Mary) Vincek; sister, Cecelia Swartwout; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 3159 Route 9N, Greenfield Center, NY by the Rev. Simon Udemgba.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave., Saratoga Springs.
George’s family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the loving care given to their husband and father by Dr. Desmond R. DelGiacco, Dr. Roland T. Phillips, III, Dr. John Koella, Norman Bovee and all of the wonderful nurses at Saratoga Hospital.
