Dominic Vincent Galluscio

Saratoga Springs, NY – Dominic Vincent Galluscio, 80, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012.

Born July 7, 1931, in New York City, he was the second child of the late Robert and Mary DeFeo Galluscio. Dominic graduated from Cardinal Hays High School in the Bronx. At age 19, he married his loving wife of 56 years, the late Dolores Dellipaine Galluscio. Dominic worked for his father as a carpenter where he learned a skill that would come in handy for the rest of his life. He attended Fordham University where he obtained an undergraduate degree in accounting. Dominic then attended New York University where he earned his master’s degree in business administration for taxation. Originally employed by the Standard Oil Company, Dominic left there to start his own income tax return business and insurance company. He prepared thousands of tax returns and was an Enrolled Agent for the IRS. In 1969, he and his family purchased a 40-acre fruit farm in Germantown, NY. He enjoyed his scotch, adventured on many cruises with his wife and daughters, loved going to the Saratoga Race Track with his dear friends, Jerry, “Taxi” and Jim “Truck” Carlucci where he followed his son Dominic’s horses. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his grandsons Steven and Gerard. Dominic provided for his family, loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dominic was predeceased by his sister, Irene Corti.

Survivors include his children, Marie (Larry)Britt, Robert (Denise) Galluscio, Denise (Lloyd) Cote, Ray (Kate) Galluscio, Dominic Galluscio, Joseph Galluscio and Gerard (Jo Ann) Galluscio (JoAnn); grandchildren, Tiffany and Elise Britt, Lynn Marie (Hugh) Galluscio, Robbie (Amanda) Galluscio, Steven Galluscio, Gerard (Michelle) Beebe, Tim and Todd Cote, Dominique, Grasie, Jolee, Dominic and Genna Galluscio; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Alexandra Beebe and Ruby Horner.

Dominic’s family would like to thank the staff on 4 Springs at the Wesley Health Care Center and the Home of the Good Shepherd in Saratoga Springs for their kindness and care during their father’s stay.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

A private committal service will be conducted in the family plot at the Germantown Reformed Church Cemetery, Germantown, NY.
