ROCK CITY FALLS - Patricia Ann Samascott, age 77, silently closed the door of life and departed from us on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at her home with her loving husband John by her side following a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 20, 1940 in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late George Stevens and Mary Ann Houck Stevens.

Patricia was a faithful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.  She spent a good part of her life involved in the antique business, Pat was a serious cartridge collector.  She enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and traveling with her husband John.  Pat loved the Lord, she was very active in the church, but her faith extended beyond ministering with her church family; she was very passionate and active in her community service.  Pat is now rejoicing with her Savior, fulfilling as the hymn writer penned, “Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice!”

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, John L. Samascott; daughters, Catherine Ippoliti, Frances “Sam” Samascott, Ellen Montross, Mary Samascott; son, Joseph Samascott; nine grand-children, five great-grandchildren and many friends who will miss her dearly.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s Church 771 NY-29, Rock City Falls, NY 12863 with Father Kelly officiating.  Family and friend may call from 9:30 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.

A graveside service will be held at Rock City Falls Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Patricia can be made to the St. Mary’s Church, 2113 East St, Galway, NY 12074 or St. Paul’s Church, 771 NY-29, Rock City Falls, NY 12863
