Operation Cross Country

On Sunday, July 28, the Saratoga Springs Police Department Investigation Division, Albany Division of the FBI and the New York State Police CNET, conducted an undercover operation in conjunction with the FBI National “Operation Cross Country” detail. The primary goal of “Operation Cross Country” is to rescue juvenile victims from child prostitution. This year, “Operation Cross Country” resulted in 105 children being rescued from sex trafficking in 76 cities across the United States.

As part of the cooperative efforts of local, state and federal authorities in Operation Cross Country, the Saratoga Springs operation focused on potential underage victims of sex trafficking. Fortunately, no juvenile victims were identified in the local investigation. Nevertheless, as a result of the local investigation the following individuals were arrested:

Marcolena E. Miller, 27, of Wertman Lane, Loudonville, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.

Virginia L. Quesnel-Gillett, 29, of 13th Street, Troy, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.

Pamela A. Baumgardner, 45, of Jefferson Terrace, Saratoga Springs, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.

Carl S. Young, 35, of Washington Avenue, Albany, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Ginger R. Wood, 23, of Central Avenue, Albany, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.

Shannon L. Tracey, 29, of Van Buren Street, Ballston Spa, was arrested and charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor.

Krista Cherry, 23, of Saratoga Avenue, Glens Falls, was arrested and charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.
