SARATOGA SPRINGS - Last week SPARK Saratoga, an entrepreneur incubator and early stage company accelerator developed by Saratoga Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), announced its first Summer Speaker Series.
The series will include workshops in e-commerce, marketing, legal topics for business, capital markets and women entrepreneurs, featuring inspirational stories of the failures frequently encountered that can lead to future success. Community partners at The Universal Preservation Hall of Proctor's Theater (25 Washington Street) and Saratoga CoWorks (153 Regent Street) will host the workshops.
The SPARK Saratoga series features established professionals who've sold their company to Time, Inc. (Sports Illustrated), led Microsoft's new product rollouts, called shots on brand and marketing for Fortune 500 companies, wrote checks as investors and much more.
It will launch at 6 p.m. on June 27 with an e-commerce and operations-focused workshop with Venture 7 Advisors at Universal Preservation Hall (UPH). Two presentations will be made at Saratoga CoWorks on July 17 and 18 starting at 4 p.m., while additional events hosted by UPH will start at 6 p.m. on July 25, August 1 and 17. Space is limited and pre-registration is encouraged by visiting the SPARK Saratoga website at https://sparksaratoga.com/.
Invitations to the series are reserved for SPARK Saratoga's admitted business project teams, representing 17 Capital Region businesses to date (since the Spark Saratoga Launch on April 12), and SEDC member investors. New project teams having undergone SPARK Saratoga market opportunity analysis and accepting mutually agreed action plans supporting their development will also receive invitations. Interested entrepreneurs should visit the website to initiate a review of their idea or existing early stage business status.
