This win was doubly sweet as it qualified Hatton to compete in his first Jr. World Championships which will be held October 23-27 in Ljubiana, Slovenia. Hatton is the 18th JMJC athlete to qualify for the Jr. Worlds in its 12 year history. Hatton's JMJC teammate, Alex Turner, just missed qualifying for the Jr. Worlds by taking a silver medal in the 17-20-year-old 73kg weight class. Joe Martinez (20) placed fourth in the 17-20-year-old 66kg category to close out the JMJC athletes’ participation at the event.
