Mathiesen, completing his first two-year term, cites the following among his accomplishments as Commissioner:
"Our city's Fire Department ambulance transport has improved Emergency Medical Services and brought in over $1 million in revenue in just 18 months. The long-term problem of inadequate police facilities will be solved at a moderate cost. The city has reduced police overtime expense and increased crime deterrence due to positions I restored within our police department, while security cameras downtown and on Caroline Street should result in faster response times and fewer incidents. I also have been able to address many constituent concerns regarding pedestrian safety, resulting in placement of more cross walks and stop signs. My Democratic council colleagues and I worked to establish an inclusive Comprehensive Plan Review Committee more representative of our city than what the Mayor attempted to appoint."
Appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.Entertainment and enlightening conversation will add to the festivities.Contributions will be gratefully accepted at the door.
"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve all residents of Saratoga Springs," said Mathiesen. "And I am humbled by the continued support of so many as I seek my second term."
