WILTON – Each of the proposals submitted earlier this year for renovating the former Mount McGregor Correctional Facility were “deemed unfeasible” on Oct. 19, according to a statement provided by Empire State Development (ESD).
In March, the state agency organized a tour of the facility for media outlets, state lawmakers and local economic-development officials. Three proposals were submitted in a formal ESD process before a May 31 deadline. That process is now canceled.
The ESD statement indicated that further attempts to market the property “could include having direct discussions with potential developers.”
