SARATOGA SPRINGS — On Friday, April 28, a city Department of Public Works (DPW) recreation crew installed wood chips at the North Side playground.

As part of a plan to update the city’s playgrounds, the Recreation Department placed new playground equipment through an outside contractor.

Assistance from DPW was requested to help install the wood chips and final touches to finish the North Side Playground, which is located at the intersection of Clement Avenue and State Street.

Public Works Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco is considering options to add a pathway or sidewalk in front of the playground. Residents who utilize it have indicated that accessibility is an important feature they would like to see added.
