Saratoga Springs, NY - Genevieve A. Pouliot passed away at Wesley Health Care Center November 22, 2011, after a long and full life of nearly 101 years.
Born on January 21, 1911, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Jenny (Jaeker) Kryst. She married Pierre Charles Pouliot, Jr., on September 7, 1935, and shared 39 loving years with him. She remained in Chicago until she moved east with her daughter in 1977.
Genevieve was a secretary at Marshall Field & Co. in Chicago, retiring after 27 years of service. She then became active in various senior groups. She was president of the Anthonians at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hightstown, NJ, where she received the Senior Citizen Service Award in 1981 for her contributions to the community. She was a charter member of the Caroline Club at St. Joseph’s of Yorkville Church in Manhattan where she was a daily communicant. She was an active parishioner of St. Clement’s Church.
Genevieve will be remembered most for her devotion to God and her loving nature; she never failed to make the people she met feel very special. She was her daughter’s best friend, confidant and loving companion.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband, Pierre; sister, Theresa and her husband, James Donigan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry (Sylvia), Raymond (Leota) Kryst and Clifford Kryst.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth A. Pouliot; sister-in-law, Rita Kryst; four nieces and a nephew and their spouses; and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs.
Burial will be at a future date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in River Grove, IL.

Her daughter wishes to thank the wonderful staff on Wesley Springs 3 who so lovingly helped care for Genevieve; they are an amazing group of caring people and will be cherished forever. She also wishes to thank her family and many friends whose generosity of time, prayers and support made it possible for Genevieve to remain at home for nearly three years during her illness.
