SARATOGA SPRINGS — Victor Liguori, 86, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on April 30, 1931 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Cosmo Liguori and Rosalia Gianfala Liguori. Victor received his B.A. from Copper Union, School of Fine Arts and Engineering, Manhattan, NY and his M.F.A. from Yale University, New Haven, CT. He studied fine arts abroad in Pavia, Italy for a year before returning to Manhattan to work as a graphic artist. Following his time in Manhattan he took a position at Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus, Ohio for four years. He then became a Professor of Fine Art at Skidmore College and retired from there after 25 years. Victor had many former students and colleagues that he considered close friends still to this day.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Jondra Nolan Liguori and a brother Richard Liguori.
Survivors include his brother Joseph J. Liguori of Lynbrook, NY and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends gathered to remember him Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, by Rev. John D. Kirwin. Burial followed at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
