John Arthur Sontag

Corinth, NY- John Arthur Sontag passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Saratoga Hospital with his loving wife and daughter by his side. 
Born, December 4, 1939, in Englewood NJ, he was a graduate of Tenafly High School, Tenafly, NJ. After high school he joined the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division and served for 3 years as a paratrooper.  
On July 3, 1963, he married the love of his life, Beatrice M. Duncan.
John was also a longtime resident of Fairfield, CT., where he was employed as the Managing Superintendent of Mosswood Condominium for over 30 years. 
There wasn’t a weekend you couldn’t find John and his wife enjoying long trips on their motorcycles. He retired to upstate New York to be close to his grandchildren where he enjoyed picnics, county fairs, rocking on his front porch while watching his grandchildren’s’ baseball/softball games and picking out stars. 
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Sontag; son, John R. Sontag; daughters, Annmarie (John) Bouchard and Katherine (Brad) Peterson; sisters, Joan Kellner and Judy Fullin; grandchildren, Samantha S., Bailey B., Devin B, Meghan P., Cole Arthur P., Lorelai P. and Duncan P.; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, John Polizzio and William Maynard.
John was a long-standing member of GWRRA Chapter E of CT, GWRRA Chapter N of NY, past member of Fairfield Lion’s Club, Honorary member of Blue Knights V of Fairfield CT and United Sidecar Association of NY.
Private family services and burial will be held in Johns honor at a later date.
