M. Anita Dailey

Wilton, NY - M. Anita Dailey, 95, formerly of Clinton, NY, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 with her loving family by her side following a 14-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born on Oct. 31, 1916 in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Nora (Kelly) Mihm. Anita was a lifelong resident of Clinton until she and Ken moved to Wilton in Nov. of 1995 to be with family. She was a graduate of Clinton Central High School. Anita worked as a beautician at the Ambassador Hotel in New York City and also had her own shop in Clinton. On June 4, 1942 she married Talisfor Budzekia, who was killed in action in Belgium on Dec. 28, 1944. She married Kenneth E. Dailey on Dec. 31, 1951 in St. Mary’s Church in Clinton and they shared 52 wonderful years together until his passing on Feb. 17, 2004.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Carl J. Mihm and her sister Aurelia Smith.

Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Dailey Byrne and her husband Stuart of Wilton, with whom she has resided for the past 17 years and Sharon B. Cahill and her husband Michael of Oxnard, CA; two grandsons, Dr. Kevin W. Miller of California and Nicholas Dailey Byrne of Wilton and a granddaughter Lily D. Byrne also of Wilton; sister-in-law Regina D. Mihm and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Anita’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at St. Clement’s Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, by the Very Rev. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R., pastor and Rev. Jon K. Werner.

Burial will follow at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville.

A very special thanks and appreciation to Community Hospice LPN Jamie Hotaling who lovingly cared for Anita (Nana) for 50 weeks, Karen Ballard LPN and Arlene Lyons RN for the exemplary care and dignity given to Nana these last months of her life and to Dr. Desmond DelGiacco and his staff for the care given to Anita since relocating to Wilton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Double H Ranch, 97 Hidden Valley Rd., Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 or the Make a Wish Foundation, 1 Mustang Dr., Cohoes, NY 12047.

The campaign began on Friday, March 15, and continued until Sunday, March 17.
