Curtis Robert Bullard passed away on October 7, 2012 with his loving wife, family and friend Nate King at his side.
Curtis was born on January 12, 1937 in Ware, MA; He was the son of the late Milton and Minnie Rutherford Bullard.
He married Shirley Demers on Feb. 24, 1957 and they spent 55 wonderful years together.
Curtis served his country in the National Guard 104th Division for seven years.
Curtis worked for Quaboag Rubber, North Brookfield, Massachusetts for 25 years. He was then employed as a Salesman for Chemicals and Fire Apparatus for many years prior to retiring.
After retiring he enjoyed his time as a volunteer Firefighter for the Maple Avenue Fire Department, where he served as Safety Officer and Driver. He was a lifetime member of the Meadowood County Area Fire Dept. in New Hampshire and the Brookfield Fire Dept. in Massachusetts. He was an avid hunter and woodworker.
Curtis is survived by his wife Shirley; son Gary Bullard and wife Lynne; daughters Debra McGee and husband Kenneth, and Teresa Bullard; grandchildren: Jessica Edmonds and husband Dave, Jacob Connors, Phillip Enright, Danny Enright, Kristen Enright, Cate Shaw and husband Dan, and Mary Schneider; 3 great-grandchildren; extended family: Terri Schneider, Joe Schneider and wife Maureen and Patti Caffrey; and many other family members and friends, and especially all his dear friends at the Maple Avenue Fire Department.
A funeral service will be held in celebration of Curt on Wednesday, October 10 beginning at noon at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave (Route 9) Saratoga Springs, where friends and family may call on Tuesday October 9 from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
After the service friends and family are invited to join the family at the Maple Avenue Fire Department for further fellowship and lunch.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Maple Avenue Fire Department sign fund.
