Fingerpaint Acquires Managed Markets Firm 1798

SARATOGA SPRINGS — As part of Fingerpaint’s continued commitment to bring forward the best opportunities to their clients, the full-service health and wellness marketing agency has acquired 1798, a market access and commercialization firm located in La Jolla, CA.

Biopharmaceutical manufacturers have entered a new era wherein a primary consideration is now how their products will allow healthcare professionals to provide cost-efficient, value-driven, quality care to patients. Today, the expectation is that these life sciences companies expertly communicate well-thought-out, market-responsive data demonstrating not only the clinical benefit of a product, but also its impact on cost of care. The 60-person team at 1798 specializes in developing tailored market access and commercialization support programs for drugs at any stage in the product life cycle (from early to late product stages). The acquisition of this well-respected, experienced managed markets firm will allow Fingerpaint to offer their life sciences clients a wealth of new healthcare consulting services, including patient and provider access services, financial impact analysis and analytics, competitive intelligence, pull-through solutions, account leader support materials, and training materials.

“With the acquisition of 1798, Fingerpaint will be able to assure our life sciences clients that we can provide the full continuum of market access planning and commercialization support services to successfully assist them in building their brands and launching new products,” said Ed Mitzen, founder of Fingerpaint. “We are honored and excited that 1798 is joining the
Fingerpaint family.”

Roshawn Blunt, a former biopharmaceutical company senior executive with experience in hospital administration and the founder of 1798, stated, “It was a welcome opportunity to join a great creative powerhouse within the health and wellness industry, and we look forward to a synergistic relationship that will provide elegant solutions and superior outcomes for our clients.”

Mitzen and Blunt, along with the rest of the leadership team, will work hand-in-hand to continue delivering a competitive advantage and customized approaches to their clients, from early-stage commercialization to overcoming challenges that occur post-launch in the commercialization process.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Franklin Community Center is thrilled to announce that Fingerpaint and local philanthropists Ed and Lisa Mitzen have donated $250,000 to support the Center. Fingerpaint and the Mitzen family are well-known throughout the community for their significant contributions to social service agencies.

“The compassion Lisa and Ed and the Fingerpaint staff continually show our community is truly remarkable. Their donation will be used to help with an expansion campaign we are planning for Franklin,” stated executive director, Kari Cushing. The growing need for services has prompted the Center to expand its physical space.

Jason Lynch, the president of Franklin’s board of directors, said, “Our goal at the center is to meet the needs as they exist in our community, and those needs have grown exponentially over the years.”

“Knowing how much the need for services has increased over the years, we wanted to do our part to help the center grow to meet those needs. It’s an honor for me and Lisa and our entire staff at Fingerpaint to support the mission and expansion. We can’t wait to see it come together and have such a big impact on our community.”

The center plans to announce their expansion campaign in 2020 and is excited to share the details with the community. “We are honored to have the support of Fingerpaint and Ed and Lisa behind us. Their continued commitment to our less fortunate community members is evident in the multiple agencies they lend support to,” said Cushing. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner.”

Operation Lunch Lady

Image provided.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — With summer break just around the corner, kids and families who rely on free and reduced lunch programs during the school year often become more vulnerable to food insecurity during school vacations. That’s why Fingerpaint, a marketing agency headquartered in Saratoga Springs, New York, is asking people to embrace their inner lunch lady this summer to help combat hunger in the communities surrounding each of their offices. Fingerpaint launched Operation Lunch Lady in partnership with The Pack Shack on April 16. Knowing that kids often face an increased risk of hunger during summer break and food pantry donations often dwindle, the team came up with a creative way to raise awareness and funds using the beloved unsung hero, the lunch lady, to get people excited to help.

With a commitment to matching up to $15,000, Fingerpaint will raise the necessary funds to purchase nutritious and easyto-prepare meals from The Pack Shack to donate to three hunger relief organizations in the communities surrounding Fingerpaint offices in Saratoga Springs, NY, Conshohocken, Penn., and Scottsdale, Ariz. The effort marks Fingerpaint’s second annual company-wide Philanthropy Day, during which its offices will close on June 29 to allow employees to work together simultaneously at each location toward a common goal. Last year, they raised more than $11,000 to help kids in foster care. This year, the company hopes to raise a total of $30,000 (including the company match) to tackle food insecurity, which will end up providing more than 65,000 meals across the country. The Pack Shack, a Midwest-based humanitarian organization, will send crews to each Fingerpaint office to host “Feed the Funnel Parties.” Fingerpainters will get their lunch lady on, donning hairnets, aprons, and gloves, cranking up awesome music, and creating thousands of meals from dry ingredients in an assembly line. The assembly line will include: funnels (where ingredients are poured into a funnel to fill a bag), scales (where bags are weighed for accuracy), heat sealers (where bags are sealed), and boxes (where the bags are put into cases). Once packed, the meals will be given to local hunger relief organizations in New York, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

“We know that the risk for food insecure families goes up during school breaks, so we wanted to find a way to raise awareness and work together to feel like we can make an impact. We figured a Feed the Funnel party would be both fun and productive, and we can make sure it feeds families in our surrounding communities,” said Bo Goliber, who heads up Philanthropy efforts at Fingerpaint.

SSHS Grad Makes Division III All-American!

Swimmer Caroline Conboy Concludes Banner Year – In and Out of the Pool!

GENEVA – Saratoga Springs High School graduate Caroline Conboy, now a junior at William Smith College, has been named a Division III All-American off her performances at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which took place on March 18 - 20 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

“I was completely surprised that I made it to the top eight finishers,” said Conboy, referring to her performance in the 100-yard breaststroke final. “My goal going in was to place in the top 16.” The eighth-place finish clinched her All-American status, and came off a preliminary in which she bested her own school and Liberty League record by over a half-second. Conboy also reached the consolation finals in the 200-yard breaststroke event, finishing sixteenth in her last event of the year.

One person who was very enthusiastic, but not at all surprised by Caroline’s performance was her High School Coach, Josh Muldner.

“Caroline is an all-around outstanding individual that deserves any praise or recognition that comes her way. She was our record holder, a state finalist two years in a row, our team MVP three years in a row, and our team captain as a senior.” Coach Muldner said.

“And that extends to life out of the pool. While at Saratoga, Caroline was selected by her peers to be the Homecoming Queen and she was the Student Government President. Just a great, great, great individual!”

For her part, Conboy, who is a psychology major / education minor and currently obtaining her teaching certificate, had nothing but fond memories about her high school. “Coach Muldner is the reason why I’m accomplishing so much today. He instilled in me a very positive spirit in addition to refining my technique,” she said.

“I’m so proud of Saratoga Springs swimmers and divers and what they’ve been able to continue to achieve,” she added. “I’m also thankful for the support I have received from home. So many people reached out (after the NCAA tournament), it’s very gratifying.” She also has a William Smith teammate from home – senior CeCe Carsky-Bush – to keep her motivated.

Caroline, who comes from an athletic family (brother Tom recently finished as a State champion in pole vault – See Saratoga TODAY March 11, 2016), had also played softball while a Blue Streak, but now concentrates on swimming and academics.

Looking to her senior year, “I’m going to stick to my goals,” Conboy said, “I hope to make the Nationals again, while making improvements in my times. If I’m successful in doing that, the awards and recognition will take care of themselves.”
