Wilton Meeting Gets Heated Over Mega-Building

WILTON — While the Wilton Planning Board chair did his best to keep residents calm and remind them the board’s hands were tied in the matter of approving the Gordon Development proposal for a three-story multi-use building on Route 9, the meeting got heated as residents and applicants began talking out of turn and interrupting one another at Wednesday night’s public hearing.

WILTON — Planning Board members held off on making a State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) decision for the Gordon Development mega building project planned for Route 9 across from the former Everglades Restaurant after several residents and a lawyer for Thomas Farone, who is building apartments across the road from the project, pointed out zoning changes appear to have been made by the town just to allow such a large project go through unencumbered.

WILTON – In spite of pleas from residents to take more time to consider the proposed zoning changes, Wilton’s Town Board members voted to approve the majority of them – over 100 in all – wrapping up what has been a contentious three months since residents first learned of the proposed changes.

Residents Walk Out of Wilton Meeting

WILTON – Frustrated with Councilman Robert Pulsifer’s seemingly lack of respect and constant reminders from him that the meeting was only “a presentation,” residents who showed up for Wednesday night’s informational meeting on the proposed zoning changes in Wilton started walking out in droves, expressing anger that Pulsifer refused to listen to or consider their concerns.
