Hellomy Foodie Friends!

This month, Compliments to the Chef is celebrating 20 years of business. On June 24, 2002, our unique kitchen store that was located at 488 Broadway, opened its doors to the Saratoga Springs community beginning the legacy of a true Saratoga downtown business with the support of our Saratoga Springs family.

Many dream of owning a business. However, taking the big step as an entrepreneur can be an exhilarating and scary experience. From the moment my family moved to Saratoga Springs many years ago, we dreamt of owning a business in our historical city.  Recently I read a fantastic quote that reminded me of the reasons I am an entrepreneur; “It’s not the blowing of the wind that determines your destination. It is the set of the sail”. We become entrepreneurs for many reasons. For me, my decision began when I was a small child and remained through my days within the restaurant corporate environment. I worked for many “bosses” over the years and some were great and some were not. I always yearned to be my own boss. Why not bet on myself?  I recognize that to be an entrepreneur included serving an incredible community with services and products that make customers happy.

As entrepreneurs, we are given the adventure to “keep sailing across open waters and look for your next destination — you never know what treasures you’re bound to discover.”  Paula and I are always looking for new ideas, and ways to get culinary tools into the hands of our professional and amateur chefs.

We thank our Foodie Friends for the support and fellowship of our business.  A million thanks to our amazing customers for the support. We are blessed to be serving such a wonderful community. Over the years we have truly enjoyed the foodie stories and loyalty of so many regular customers who come into our store. Thank you for your loyalty to our products and services.

We at Compliments to the Chef, your Neighborhood Kitchen and Cutlery store located at 33 Railroad Place, express much gratitude to the many individuals – family, friends, customers, and business partners who have participated in our journey over the past 20 years. We look forward to the continued years ahead. Remember my Foodie Friends; “Life Happens in the Kitchen!” Also, Bobby Flay you’re invited to stop in anytime!

Take Care, John & Paula
