SARATOGA SPRINGS – On Friday, Sept. 29, the Adelphi Hospitality Group (AHG) announced that the Adelphi Hotel is set to reopen its doors to the public on Sunday, Oct. 1. After a five-year renovation, the revitalized hotel will honor the distinct style and simple elegance of Saratoga Springs, while delivering a vivid, modern reimagining of classic Victorian luxury.

The Adelphi Hotel, originally opened in 1877 and the last surviving hotel of Saratoga’s Golden Age, has served as a cultural icon in Saratoga Springs, an upstate New York city known for its historic charm, Victorian architecture, arts community, and many attractions including naturally carbonated mineral spas, world-class horse racing, polo and more. Adelphi Hospitality Group collaborated with Designer and Architect Glen Coben of New York-based Glen & Company to reimagine the interiors focusing on a sophisticated modern Victorian design that personifies with a modern twist, and eclectic revival of, timeless ideals. Dominick Ranieri Architect P.C. of Schenectady was the architect leading The Adelphi project’s extensive structural transformation and restoration.

“This is more than just a place to stay, it’s a gathering spot for all people who live in, or are visiting, Saratoga Springs,” said Simon Milde, Managing Partner of Adelphi Hospitality Group. “The Adelphi Hotel dates back to Saratoga Springs’ Victorian age when the town was known as America’s playground for the rich and famous, and we are grateful to be part of such a culturally vibrant community.”

Guests will be welcomed into the commanding structure by 11-foot ceilings and a grand staircase that climbs all four stories and is the heart of The Adelphi’s communal space. Thirty-two artfully appointed rooms, sumptuous suites, and grand common spaces are perched along historic Broadway, reinstating The Adelphi Hotel at the top of Saratoga’s tradition of grand hospitality, making it the crown jewel of the Broadway Historic District.

The Adelphi Hotel’s focus on luxury and modern design while carrying on the spirit of a historic and charming retreat will make The Adelphi one of the most iconic places to stay, and play, in all of New York. Located on the main floor is the revival of The Adelphi’s legendary hotel bar and social hub Morrisey’s, named after John Morrissey, one of Saratoga’s most famous residents who was a heavyweight boxer, congressman and co-founder of Saratoga’s race track. Local beer, craft cocktails, and a list of fine wine will be offered, along with an array of small plates, shareable dishes and a wide selection of options from the raw bar.

Guests will also be able to indulge their senses at The Blue Hen, a 1,200-square-foot glass-walled conservatory housing The Adelphi’s new restaurant, offering a creative twist on classic dishes. Helmed by Executive Chef Braden Reardon, the locally-inspired eatery uses non-GMO ingredients from nearby farmers and will offer guests an artisan-market style experience with creatively delicious dining options for breakfast and dinner.

The new 2,300-square-foot Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests, when combined with The Blue Hen, for private meetings, conventions or weddings. The magnificent venue opens up to the tranquil Adelphi Gardens, a beloved local gathering spot for Saratogians and visitors to gather for a drink surrounded by the greenery of the serene landscaped gardens.

The 32 guest rooms have all been smartly reconfigured to offer a more spacious and luxurious experience while staying at The Adelphi. The original hotel featured approximately 74 rooms when it was built in the late 1800s. The previous owners modified the hotel to just over 40 rooms. Now, at the newly re-imagined Adelphi Hotel, guests will be able to retreat to one of 32 luxurious and oversized guest rooms and suites such as the Owner’s Box, a spacious suite combining the ultimate in luxury and design, featuring two master bedrooms, two living rooms and a 400-square-foot library where guests can peruse a myriad of eclectic and captivating books to read. The Owner’s Box Suite also features an expansive 500-square-foot terrace offering an unforgettable view of downtown Saratoga Springs.

All rooms at The Adelphi Hotel feature beautiful hard wood floors, custom designed furnishings, artfully selected pieces from the Adelphi’s history, radiant heated bathroom floors and more.

The hotel is awarding early bookers with a special offer during its Introductory Period. Guests who reserve two nights receive 30 percent off rooms and suites. This offer is valid for stays through Memorial Day 2018. Reservations must be booked by October 31, 2017. (Terms and conditions available on www.theadelphihotel.com.)
