SARATOGA SPRINGS — Two-time GRAMMY® nominee Tracy Bonham will be performing at Caffe Lena at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2. The classically trained violinist, pianist, and vocalist turned alt-rock singer-songwriter will be joined by bassist Rene Hart and drummer Alvester Garnett.
Bonham’s debut, The Burdens of Being Upright, achieved Gold Record status in 1996 spawning the #1 hit “Mother Mother” which remains a powerful anthem for disenfranchised youth to this day. Currently, “Mother Mother” is featured in episode 2 of the hit Showtime series, Yellow Jackets.
Bonham has released six subsequent albums to much critical acclaim and in 2003 and 2006 she toured as the featured vocalist and violinist in Blue Man Group’s The Complex and How To Be A Megastar 2.0.
Her most recent endeavor, while taking action during quarantine in 2020, is called Melodeon Music House. This is a music education curriculum taught in private preschool and elementary schools, pointing toward an audience she lovingly calls her “young music enthusiasts.” She will be performing these songs at Caffe Lena for Tracy Bonham Presents Topsy Bonsai’s Melodeon Music House as part of their Little Folks Show earlier on July 2, in a free admit show at 3 p.m.
