SARATOGA SPRINGS — Nacre Dance Company is accepting modern dance choreography submissions for their annual “So, You Think You Can Choreograph?” competition.
This year’s performance will be at UPH (Universal Preservation Hall) located at 25 Washington St. in Saratoga Springs.
The theme for this year’s competition will be “Twist and Shout” choreography to music by Rock and Roll Musical Legends. Staging for this year’s performance will be in a traditional theater setting and not “in the round” like last season.
All accepted applicants will receive an honorary stipend upon completing the competition. Accepted submissions will be performed on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at UPH, where the audience votes on their favorite choreography. The winning choreographer will then be commissioned to set a new piece of modern dance choreography for Nacre Dance Company for the 2023 season. Deadline to apply is Aug. 15.
