I Want YOU.... To Get ‘Footloose’ Today

By Staff Report | Entertainment
SARATOGA SPRINGS – In what promises to be a multi-SRO phenomenon (in addition to a rockin’ good time!) The Drama Club at Saratoga Springs High School will presents its spring production, “Footloose,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 7:30 p.m. on both Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 in the Loewenberg Auditorium. In this lively musical, big-city teenager Ren moves to an ultra-conservative midwestern town where dance is forbidden. Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period of small town living, but not the rigorous local edicts, which include a ban on dancing. The entire show is set to the rocking rhythms of an Oscar and Tony nominated top 40 score and augmented with dynamic new songs written for the stage musical. “Footloose” celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind. “Footloose” is directed by Bob Berenis, through special arrangement with Rogers & Hammerstein Organization. In addition to the director, other adults filling key roles are Jeff Halstead, Musical Director and Leigh Berenis, Choreographer. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students and $7 for senior citizens, and are available at the door or online now at sshsdramaclub.com. Payment for advance sales tickets must be received by March 20. Checks may be made payable to “SSHS Drama Club” and mailed to: Drama Club, Saratoga Springs High School, 1 Blue Streak Blvd., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
