SARATOGA SPRINGS — The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will host a three-day job fair at Saratoga Race Course for those interested in working at Saratoga during the 2013 meet, which will run for 40 days from July 19 through Labor Day, September 2.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — In preparation for the upcoming exhibit "Here Comes the Bride" at Brookside Museum, they are looking for the public to donate a copy of their own wedding photo for display at the museum. If you would like to partake in this, please send in duplicate of your wedding photo, ideally printed between 5 x 7 inches to letter page size.

SARATOGA SPRINGS — A new 10K has been added to SPAC’s popular "Rock & Run" 5K fundraiser scheduled for Sunday, May 19 at SPAC. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with a 1K Kids’ Run, followed by the 5K at 9:30 a.m. and the 10K at 10:30 a.m. Over 20 top Capital Region bands will perform along certified running routes and at the free, post-race party on SPAC’s lawn. Online registration is available at www.areep.com. All proceeds will benefit SPAC’s Vivienne Anderson program which hosts underserved children at classical performances.

GALWAY — If you ask any of the children of Beulah Klemontowski, growing up in her tiny home in Galway was nothing short of a paradise for a child, even if there were a total of seven children and 63 foster children over the years. 

SARATOGA SPRINGS —Applications for Leadership Saratoga’s Class of 2013–14 are now being accepted. The program is designed to orient and train persons who are interested in becoming more involved in their community in volunteer leadership capacities. In addition, participants will receive in-depth knowledge about some of the critical issues facing Saratoga County.

MALTA — Only three Malta residents showed up to the public viewing of four balloons hovering over the GlobalFoundries Fab 8.2 grounds last Saturday, May 4. 

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Tuesday night’s City Council meeting covered a wide range of topics from a pedestrian and bike trail that will loop the city to the Housing Authority’s salaries to banning uncovered rifles in the downtown district. 

SARATOGA SPRINGS — When most people think of abuse, they tend to only imagine people with bruised skin or broken bones. In reality, there are all types of abuse—physical, emotional and even financial, all of which happen to the elderly more often than you think. 

GREENFIELD CENTER – According to a report issued by the town of Greenfield Ambulance Committee, the town has only a couple of choices when it comes to ambulance service – either start their own or get a central location and hire a service to staff and run it. 

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Another violent crime occurred last Saturday with a gang assault on a man attending a party at Whitmore Apartments in Saratoga Springs at 4 in the morning.
