February 11 – February 17, 2023

New York State Police

A three-car crash in Malta on Feb. 12 resulted in two aggravated DWI arrests, State Police said.
Anthony S. Alifano, 28, of Clifton Park, was charged with aggravated DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. 

Tameka E. Jones, 38, of Queensbury, was charged with aggravated DWI and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Tristan J. Mason, 20, of Halfmoon, was charged Feb. 13 with Burglary in the Third-Degree. 

Christopher P. Haskell, 39, of Ballston Spa, was charged with DWI, after his vehicle was stopped by State Police on State Route 9 in Malta for suspected violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Further investigation determined Haskell had a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years.

Jennifer M. Manz, 40, of Wilton, was charged with DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, after being stopped on State Route 50 in Saratoga Springs. She was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where Manz recorded a 0.22% BAC, according to State Police.

Michael D. Sullivan, 52, of Ballston, was charged with DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC, State Police said.

Saratoga Springs Police

Christian Frazier, 48, of Pottersville, was charged Feb. 13 with DWI, and Aggravated DWI.

Javier Dalmasi, 28, of Ballston Spa, was charged Feb. 12 with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Operating Motor Vehicle Impaired By Drugs, Unauthorized Use Vehicle:Without Owner Consent, Unlawful Fleeing A Police Officer In A Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Unsafe Movement Of Stopped Motor Vehicle, Unsafe Passing On Left, Moved From Lane Unsafely, Speed Violation:Speed In Zone, Passed Vehicle On Right, Speed Not Reasonable, Avoiding Traffic Device, Drive motor vehicle on/across sidewalk, Failure to stop at a stop sign, and making an unsafe turn.

Kevin Kelly, 42, of Saratoga Sorings, was charged Feb. 12 with petit larceny and trespassing.

William Gallager, 23, was charged Feb. 11. with DWI.

Anthony Capasso, 21, of Northford, Connecticut, was charged Feb. 11 with Criminal Mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Thomas Deschaine, 51, of Hudson Falls, was charged Feb. 7 with Robbery-2nd Degree: Displays What Appears To Be A Firearm, and Assault 3rd Degree: With Intent To Cause Physical Injury.

February 4 – February 10, 2023

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

Sarah N. Woody, 42, of Malta was charged with arson in the second-degree, and reckless endangerment in the first-degree, in connection with an incident on Jan. 16, 2023. Both charges are felonies. Woody is accused of setting fire to her residence, a duplex, on Thimbleberry Road in the Town of Malta while the residents on the other side of the duplex were home. 

Christopher W. Crumble, 27, of Greenfield, was charged with assault in the second-degree, criminal contempt in the first-degree (both felonies), misdemeanor resisting arrest, and harassment - a violation, resulting from an investigation into a domestic incident that occurred in the Town of Greenfield. Crumble is alleged to have pulled the hair of an individual who had an order of protection against him, and is accused, while being taken into custody, of striking a Deputy in the face and causing physical injury. 

Saratoga Police Department

Prince Cooper, 36, of Schenectady, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second-degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree – both felonies. At the time of the arrest arrest, Cooper was on Federal Supervised Release for the charge of Conspiracy to Distribute Narcotics, according to a statement issued by Saratoga Springs Police. Cooper was arraigned in City Court and remanded to the custody of the Albany County Sheriff without bail.

Richard Janes, 43, of Ballston Spa, was charged Feb. 6 with criminal use drug paraphernalia, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, display forged certificate, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating vehicle without inspection certificate, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree. 

Amy Kraus, 51, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Feb. 5 with criminal mischief: intent to damage property. 

William Rolon-Ocasio, 46, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Feb. 1 with criminal contempt: disobey court. 

Dean Fox, 47, of Endicott, N.Y., was charged Jan. 31 with grand larceny in the third-degree (property value exceeds $3,000), identity theft, possession forged instrument in the second-degree. 

Amy Morine, 44, of Ballston Spa, was charged Jan. 31 with petit larceny. 

Marcus Vandeusen, 20, of Schenectady, was charged Jan. 31 with grand larceny in the fourth-degree (motor vehicle value exceeds $100). 

Clarence Slade, 46, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 31 with DWI, speed violation, unsafe turn or failure to give appropriate signal. 

Caitlin Kenney, 37, of Halfmoon, was charged Jan. 30 with DWI, speed not reasonable and prudent, moved from lane. 

William Durfee, 38, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 30 with burglary in the second-degree, and criminal tampering in the third-degree.

Dennis Walsh, 45, of Galway, was charged Jan. 30 with criminal  mischief in the third-degree: damage another person’s property > $250. 

Saratoga Court

Anthony J. Paradise, 44, of Coxsackie, was sentenced to 5 to 15 years incarceration, after pleading to arson in the third-degree, in connection with charges on Nov. 27 and Dec. 12, 2017 in the town of Ballston and the village of Ballston Spa, respectively. 

Thomas C. Madsen, 24, of Mechanicville, pleaded Feb. 1 to felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, and felony aggravated family offense. Sentencing April 13. 

Jackie McGonigle, 38, of Clifton Park, pleaded Feb. 1 to felony aggravated family offense. Sentencing April 27. 

James F. Hall, 29, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced Feb. 3 to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony burglary, first charged October 2022 in Malta. 

Carl W. Murphy, 53, of Stillwater, was sentenced Feb. 3 to 5 years of probation, after pleading to felony DWI, first charged July 2022 in Malta. 

Allen L. Titus, 32, of Mechanicville, pleaded Feb. 3 to criminal contempt in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. Sentencing April 7. 

Manuel Olmo, 53, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Feb. 3 to 1.5 years incarceration, after pleading to felony attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, first charged May 2021 in Saratoga Springs. 

Jorge L. Lopez, 41, of Moreau, pleaded Feb. 3 to criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, first charged August 2022. Sentencing April 7. 

Kyle S. Fish, 22, of Schuylerville, was sentenced Feb. 3 to 10 years of probation, after pleading to rape in the second-degree, first charged July 2020 in the town of Saratoga.

January 28 – February 3, 2023

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

On January 19, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Bryan S. Pallone, following an investigation into the sales of cocaine within Saratoga County. Pallone is currently incarcerated at the Schenectady County Jail, pending 29 open cases, 19 of them being felonies. This does not include additional multiple warrants that have yet to be executed throughout the Capital Region, involving mostly larceny related offenses, according to the sheriff’s office. 

William C. Maguire, 27, of Voorheesville, was charged Jan. 23 with two felony counts of rape, and one felony count criminal sexual act in the first-degree. Maguire is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a girl under the age of 15 by forcible compulsion in the Town of Providence. He was sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail, $150,000 bond and $750,000 partially secured bond.

Saratoga Police 

Vasilea Vazanellis, 48, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 25 with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell – both felonies, and the misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree. 

Kenneth Hunter, 33, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 26 with criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense. 

Daniel Johnston, 25, of Clifton Park, was charged Jan. 26 with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Robert Hummel, 34, of Glenmont, was charged Jan. 26 with stalking. 

James Bernardoni, 52, of Grand Island, NY, was charged Jan. 26 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, circumvent interlock, equipment violation – no/inadequate lights, and criminal impersonation in the second-degree. 

Trenton Hall, 35, of Gansevoort, was charged Jan. 24 with criminal contempt. 

Jacklyn Parker, 22, of Watervliet, was charged Jan. 24 with grand larceny, and burglary. 

Spencer Cornell, 21, of Greenfield Center, was charged Jan. 24 with criminal possession of cannabis – more than two pounds concentrated, and criminal possession of a firearm. 

Clifton Cage, 43, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 23 with robbery in the third-degree, aggravated family offense, and two counts of criminal mischief. 

Joseph Sokol, 33, of Scotia, was charged Jan. 22 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. 

Brittany Cashion, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 22 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and passing a red light. 

William Rolon-Ocasio, was charged Jan. 22 with criminal possession of a weapon, coercion, menacing, and stalking. 

Robert Lambert, 33, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 22 with criminal tampering, and criminal mischief. 

Ulises Rivas Flores, 29, of Ballston Spa, was charged Jan. 22 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. 

Carissa Hudman, 34, of Broadalbin, was charged Jan. 21 with aggravated unlicensed operation. 

Celestino Williams, 44, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Jan. 21 with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, harassment, and obstruction of governmental official. 

Kimberly Herrick, 37, of Ballston Spa, was charged Jan. 21 with DWI, and aggravated DWI. 

Savannah Smith, 32, of Troy, was charged Jan. 20 with aggravated unlicensed operation. 

NY State Police

On Jan. 23, at about 6:10 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol received a complaint about a vehicle being driven erratically. Troopers located the vehicle described and stopped it on State Route 7 at the I-87 interchange in Colonie. The driver was identified as Stacia Sheehan, 52, of Ballston Spa,. Sheehan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. She was transported to SP Latham for processing, where she refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of her blood. The investigation discovered Sheehan has previous DWI convictions in the last 10 years. She was issued tickets returnable to the Colonie Town Court on Feb. 1 and turned over to the medical staff at Samaritan Hospital. 

On Jan. 26, at about 6:08 a.m., State Police out of the Wilton barracks responded to the area of Northern Pines Road in Wilton, for the report of a plow truck that struck a utility pole and left the scene.  The investigation identified the driver as Gregory S. Shaughnessy, 48, of Wilton.  Shaughnessy was located at his home and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  He was transported to SP Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.21% BAC.  He was issued tickets returnable to the Wilton Town Court on Feb. 14.  The road was shut down for multiple hours, while National Grid workers completed the necessary repairs to the utility pole.

Jeffrey T. Hampshire, 42, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced Jan. 13 to 7 months’ incarceration, after pleading to aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first-degree, first charged June 2022 in Malta. 

NYS Police

On January 17, State Police of Saratoga, in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), charged Nahissah J. Tatsey, 21, of Saratoga Springs, with criminal possession of cannabis in the second-degree, after troopers responded to assist NYSDEC with a traffic stop on I-87 in Malta, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The investigation discovered over six pounds of illegally possessed cannabis in the vehicle, according to authorities. 

Priscilla M. Lancaster, 26, of Moreau, was charged Jan. 12 with Agriculture and Markets Laws, Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance, and Abandonment of Animals. Washington County Animal Control reported to the scene and took custody of the animal - discovered emaciated dog and tethered within the vehicle with no food or water available. State Police said the investigation determined Lancaster owned the vehicle and was responsible for the dog who had been living in the vehicle. 

On Jan. 8, State Police Wilton charged Amy N. Bradway, 38, of Corinth, Lucas J. Gardiner, 41, of Corinth, and Shannon M. Gordon, 44, of Moreau, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

On Jan. 16, State Police charged Brian D. Ausfeldt, 35, of Halfmoon, with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. It is alleged Ausfeldt illegally possessed psilocybin-containing mushrooms and prescription drugs.

Benjamen J. Bullard, 35, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Jan. 10 to 5 years of probation, after pleading to attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third-degree, a felony. 

Neil J. Desposito, 44, of Menands, was sentenced to 1-1/3 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony DWI, first charged July 2022 in Wilton. 

Jordan M. Sunkes, 31, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Jan. 9 to time served and 5 years of probation, after pleading to aggravated family offense, a felony. 

Eric S. Predential, 31, of Schenectady, was sentenced Jan. 9 to 1-1/2 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny, first charged May 2022 in Waterford.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

Cody J. Letourneau, 25, of Malta, was charged Jan. 4 with failing to change his address as required within 10 days due to his being a registered sex offender. 

Mother and son charged: on Jan. 9, members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Michael T. May, 27, and Tomassina May, 67, after a lengthy investigation into multiple complaints involving them both endangering minors in the towns of Wilton, Northumberland, Moreau, and the city of Saratoga Springs. It is alleged Michael T. May, over the course of the past several months, used social media to contact multiple underage juvenile females, engage them in conversation and set up sales of nicotine products, vapes, and other products to them. Tomassina May is suspected to have participated in these sales. Michael would offer to give these products to these juvenile victims if they would send him sexually explicit photos and videos via social media, and it is alleged that Michael did receive, and possess, some of these illicit pictures and videos. Michael T. May was charged with 5 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, 3 counts of unlawfully dealing with a child, 3 counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, and 2 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. Tomassina May was charged with 3 counts of unlawfully dealing with a child.

Matthew L. Perkins, 54, of Malta, was sentenced Jan. 3 to 1 to 3 years’ incarceration after pleading to felony DWI, first charged January 2022 in Moreau. 

Tyler S. Moon, 37, of Greenfield, pleaded Jan. 3 to felony grand larceny, in connection with an incident in Corinth. Sentencing Feb. 14. 

William R. Boyd, 39, of Niskayuna, pleaded Jan. 3 to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth-degree, first charged August 2022 in Moreau. Sentencing March 7. 

Anthony Pinkney, 40, of Albany, was sentenced to 2 years’ incarceration and 2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, first charged December 2021 in Moreau. 

Rodolfo L. Ocel, 34, of Waterford, was sentenced to 3-1/2 years’ incarceration and 1-1/2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, first charged October 2019 in Waterford. 

Robert J. Loya, Sr., 53, of Saratoga Springs, was pleaded to felony DWI. Sentencing June 21. 

Shawn M. Finn, 35, of Malta, was sentenced to 7 years’ incarceration and 2 years’ post-release supervision, after pleading to felony criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Brendan M. Wade, 35, of Fort Ann, pleaded to criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense, first charged July 2021 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Jan. 24. 

Justice D. Ross, 25, of Schenectady, pleaded to felony assault, first charged February 2022, in Waterford. Sentencing March 29. 

Todd Cleavland, Jr., 33, of Fort Edward, pleaded to promoting a sexual performance by a child, a felony, first charged May 2021 in Moreau, Sentencing Feb. 16. 

Cassandra C. Morsellino, 31, of Amsterdam, was sentenced to 6-1/2 years in state prison and 5 years’ post-release supervision after pleading to attempted assault in the first-degree, in connection with a Dec. 5, 2021 shooting in the town of Galway. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

On Dec. 29, 2022, members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested 41-year-old Shahid Smith, after a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking within Saratoga County. Smith is accused of selling and possessing quantities of crack/cocaine, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine throughout Saratoga County. Search warrants were executed by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team, Narcotics Unit, and Saratoga Springs PD, at 260 Maple Ave., Saratoga Springs, and 104 Holly Lane in the Town of Wilton. Smith was charged with three counts criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one count criminal sale of a controlled substance. 

Also charged were Dana Goossens, 31, of Saratoga Springs (four counts criminal possession of a controlled substance); Amie Buck, 40, of Wilton (three counts criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts criminal sale), and Tabatha Heitzmann, 42, of Wilton (one count criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count criminal sale). As a result of the investigation and search warrant, scales, packaging material, quantities of fentanyl, crack/cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and Xanax were seized.

Jessica L. Jordan, 32, of Amsterdam, was charged Jan. 5 with DWI, aggravated DWI – child in vehicle, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, as well as numerous vehicle and traffic infractions, in connection with alleged incidents that occurred in Clifton Park and Troy. 

Saratoga Springs Police

Nicholas Lynett, 21, Nicholas Debrino, 23, and Antonio Chiera, 23, were each charged with disorderly conduct: fight/violent behavior. 

Michael Blake, 59, was charged with criminal trespass. 

Gabrielle Montanye, 62, was charged with DWI, and unsafe backing of vehicle. 

Makuan Jackson, 49, was charged with criminal mischief, and act in manner injure child. 

David Lowers, 29, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and act in manner injure child. 

Nolan Wilcox, 19, was charged with assault, criminal mischief, and criminal obstruction of breathing. 

James Sheil, 32, was charged with assault. 

Gregory Fitzgerald, 19, was charged with petit larceny. 

Nathan Lynn, 28, was charged with felony DWI as a second offense, refusal to take a breath test, aggravated unlicensed operation, and vehicle equipment violation.

December 31, 2022 – January 6, 2023

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

Members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Isaiah J. Whitehurst, after the Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Team executed a search warrant on Second Street in Gansevoort. The arrest is a result of a lengthy investigation into the alleged drug trafficking and drug use and continuous complaints of drug activity occurring at the residence.

Whitehurst, 40, of Brooklyn, is currently on parole for attempted murder. As a result of the investigation & search warrant; scales, packaging material, large quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, multiple cell phones, pills and U.S. currency were seized. 

On Dec. 13, members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Danielle N. Reynolds, 43, of Brooklyn, who turned herself in after an arrest warrant was issued because of the pending charges resulting from the search warrant. 

Whitehurst and Reynolds were each charged with one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first-degree, one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree, and one misdemeanor count of criminally using drug paraphernalia.

The Sheriff’s Office was notified that a vehicle reported stolen from the town of Colonie was traveling north on U.S. Route 9 into the town of Halfmoon. Sheriff’s patrols in the area located the vehicle on U.S. Route 9 shortly after the call was broadcast and stopped it in the vicinity of Route 9 and New York State Route 146. As a result of the investigation, Zachary B. Barry, 33, of Stillwater, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the third-degree, and 3 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree. 

Saratoga Springs Police Dept.

A 28-year-old man was charged on Jan. 2 in connection with a New Year’s Day stabbing suspected to have taken place at an apartment complex off of Seward Street in Saratoga Springs. At approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday Jan. 1, city Police responded to a 911 Emergency call reporting someone was stabbed. Officers were able to locate a 26-year-old woman with a knife wound to her leg, as well as a man suspected of the action, in the apartment. The victim was transported to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of the wound and was released after receiving care. The suspect, Damon Beckerman, was charged with two felony counts criminal possession of a weapon, and aggravated criminal contempt; single felony counts of assault, unlawful imprisonment, and aggravated family offense; two misdemeanor counts of menacing, and one misdemeanor count of assault. Beckerman was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court and sent to the custody of the Saratoga County Sheriff in lieu of $40,000 cash bail, $80,000 bond, or $300,000 partially secured bond.

Nathan Lynn, 28, of Middle Grove, was charged with DWI, refusal to take a breath test, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

Edward Ody, 56, of Ballston Spa, was charged with DWI, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

NY State Police

State Police conducted an Underage Drinking Enforcement Detail in Saratoga County in late December. During the initiative 16 businesses were checked for compliance. Three people were charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First degree, a class “A” misdemeanor, after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21. The following businesses were NOT in compliance under the New York Beverage Control Law Section 65, Prohibited Sale to Person Under the Age of 21: East Side Wine & Spirits, 11 Maple Dell, Saratoga Springs.  Jones & 50 Wine and Spirits, 4208 NY-50, Saratoga Springs. Jordan M. Garafalo, 39, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Dec. 8 to 3 years incarceration and 3 years post-release supervision, after pleading to assault in the second-degree, in connection with an incident that resulted in the death of a man following an August 2021 assault in Saratoga Springs. 

Michael L. Girard, 33, of Clifton Park, was sentenced Dec. 7 to 9 years incarceration and 25 years post-release supervision, on each count, after pleading to two counts criminal sexual act in the first-degree, a felony. Date of charges: October 2021, in Clifton Park. 

Eugene F. Wachtel, 55, of Scotia, pleaded Dec. 7 to felony attempted burglary, first charged October 2021 in Wilton. Sentencing Feb. 8. 

Bruce L. Larrabee, 25, of Ballston Spa, pleaded Dec. 7 to felony assault, first charged in June. Sentencing Feb. 15. 

Nicholas Lesson, 42, of Stillwater, pleaded Dec. 7 to felony burglary, first charged in February. Sentencing Jan. 19. 

Kwaku A. Ofosu, 23, of Cohoes, was sentenced Dec. 6 to 5 years probation, after pleading to reckless endangerment in the first-degree, first charged in April in Mechanicville. 

Caren M. Monahan, 31, of Hudson Falls, pleaded Dec. 5 to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth-degree, first charged in Moreau in October.  Sentencing Feb. 7. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

On Dec. 6, members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Team executed a search warrant at 109 Comstock Road in the town of Corinth. Following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking within Saratoga County, Thomas A. Allen, 34, Kayla J. Allen, 30, Erica B. Shippee, 36, and Richard S. Simmons, 49, were arrested and are accused of possessing and selling quantities of crack cocaine. Shippee is also a NYS parolee. Kayla Allen is currently on probation for a drug related offense, and Thomas Allen was out on bail pending sentencing for prior narcotics sales. As a result of the investigation and search warrant, scales, packaging material, and quantities of crack cocaine were seized. Each has been charged with several felonies and misdemeanors in connection with the incident. 

After a lengthy investigation into numerous package thefts from Thimbleberry Drive in the town of Malta on Nov. 28, the Sheriff’s Office charged Sarah F. Micheli, 30, of Malta, with one count of felony grand larceny and 13 counts of misdemeanor petit larceny.

The Sheriff’s Office received a complaint at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter on Dec. 3, of a yellow Labrador retriever that had been turned in to them under suspicious circumstances. The animal was extremely malnourished and had other signs of neglect as well. Investigation into the complaint led to the following Dec. 10 arrests of a Milton couple for torturing or injuring animals – failure to provide sustenance, under New York State Agriculture and Markets Law: Rebecca L. Been, 31, and Justin C. Condon, 28. Both were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Milton Town Court on a later date. The animal is in the custody of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter and is expected to make a full recovery.

Ashley Racine, 36, of Glens Falls, was charged Dec. 11 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Brenda Parker, 25, of Cohoes, was charged Dec. 11 with DWI, reckless endangerment, aggravated unlicensed operation, and vehicle equipment violation.

Connor Young, 29, of Ballston Lake, was charged Dec. 11 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and failure to keep right. 

Kenneth Hughes, 37, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with petit larceny, and criminal trespass. 

Samantha Silvanic, 27, of Gansevoort, was charged Dec. 10 with DWI, and driving the wrong direction on a one-way street. 

James Lefebvre, 43, of Stillwater, was charged Dec. 7 with petit larceny. 

Kevin Kelly, 42, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Dec. 6 with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Jeffrey Hughes, 52, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Dec. 6 with DWI, aggravated DWI, and following too close. 

Nathan Shreve, 42, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Dec. 6 with criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

Maurice M. Trichilo, 33, of Albany, and Dwayne J. Cooper, 35, of Troy, were each charged Nov. 18 with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, following a narcotics operation in the Town of Ballston. They are accused of possessing a large quantity of cocaine following a vehicle stop and roadside investigation, where approximately 260 grams of cocaine was seized, according to the county sheriff’s department. 

William E. Bounds, 37, of Malta, was charged Nov. 30 with the failure to change address within 10 days as a sex offender. 

On Nov. 23, members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Caitlin Pruess after a lengthy investigation of drug trafficking within Saratoga County. Pruess is accused of possessing and selling quantities of crack/cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine throughout Saratoga County. A search warrant was executed by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team, Narcotics Unit, and South Glens Falls Police Department in the Village of South Glens Falls. Multiple subjects were located within the residence and were additionally charged. Caitlin M. Pruess, 30, of South Glens Falls, was charged with multiple felony and misdemeanors related to criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance, in addition to one count criminally using drug paraphernalia. Multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance were also charged to: Zachary E. King, 33, of South Glens Falls, Brendan J. Pulica, 38, of Warrensburg, Bobbie J. Demgerd, 42, of Glens Falls, Patricia P. Sexton, 37, of Glens Falls, Rachel M. Cenate, 32, of Hudson Falls, and Auriel B. Daab, 30, of Warrensburg. 

NY State Police

On Nov. 22, at about 11:18 p.m., State Police of Wilton responded to a crash in the parking lot of Fitzgeralds Steakhouse in Moreau. The investigation determined a vehicle driven by Shawn F. Van Vranken, 25, of Glens Falls, struck a parked car while attempting to leave the location. Van Vranken was charged with DWI and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.18% BAC.

  • New York State Police The New York State Police announced that it issued 5,576 tickets during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day enforcement initiative. The campaign began on Friday, March 15, and continued until Sunday, March 17. During the campaign, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, State Police utilized sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and underage drinking and sales to minors detail.
