SARATOGA SPRINGS — Elaine N. Caponi of Woodlawn Commons died peacefully on Thursday March 20 at Wesley Health Care Center. She was 88 years old.
She was born on March, 24, 1925, in Burlington, Vermont and was the daughter of the late Beatrice Spydell Newton.
Elaine married her husband John on June 15, 1957 at St Mary's Church in Waterford. John and Elaine lived on Dugan Hill Road, Maltaville, in Malta for 46 years before moving to Saratoga Heritage Apartments in Wilton then to Woodlawn Commons, Saratoga Springs.
She worked as aMarketing and Communications Manager for General Electric Silicone Plant in Waterford until her retirement in 1986.
Elaine was an avid reader throughout her life. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband John, two sons, Ronald and Jeffrey Pintuff, a daughter Sue Caponi, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren and her cat Sarah.
Graveside services are scheduled for May 12 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterford.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Elaine's name to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter (SCAS), 6010 County Farm Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
