Mary Theresa Williams Ryan

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Mary Theresa Williams Ryan, 73, of Trottingham Road, passed away Wednesday, July 9 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on May 13, 1941 in Troy, she is a daughter of the late George C. and Mary C. (O’Brien) Williams, Sr. A graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, she attended the Russell Sage Evening Division. Employed by the Saratoga Springs Public Library for 23 years, she retired 11 years ago as Supervisor of the Circulation desk.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, including her six grandchildren, and SHEwas a member of St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, George C. Williams Jr. and John R. Williams.

Survivors include her husband of 51 ½ years, Joseph J. Ryan, whom she married on December 15, 1962; four children, Deborah M. (husband, Joseph) Sorrentino of Buffalo and  Michael (wife, Holly) Ryan, Kristin A. Ryan and Jill S. (husband, Brian) McCoskey, all of Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren, Amanda and Sarah Ryan, Blade and Chase Sorrentino and Megan and Ryan McCoskey; two sisters-in-law, Lois Williams and Kathy Ryan; one brother-in-law, James Ryan and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in her name to Muscular Dystrophy Research at Albany Medical Center, 47 New Scotland Avenue MC 70, Albany, NY 12208 (please indicate “in honor of Mary Williams Ryan”).

Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H.
