Saratoga Springs, NY - Norma K. Nall, 97, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Born July 27, 1914, in Ogdensburg, NY, Norma was the daughter of Fred H. and Grace Baxter Klock. She married Darl O. Nall on June 15, 1940. They lived in several communities across the state, including New York City, Batavia and Pittsford. Mr. Nall died in 1963.
Norma worked for many years as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1976. She moved to Clifton Park in 1981 and Saratoga Springs in 1989 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Norma was a member of the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church of Saratoga Springs where she served as a deacon and made many good friends. She was a member of the Saratoga Kiwanis Golden K Club, a volunteer at Franklin Community Center and the Meals on Wheels program.
Norma was a cherished mother and grandmother who will be remembered for her devotion to her family, as well as for her strong social conscience. Throughout her life, she generously supported organizations that provided assistance to economically disadvantaged children and that advocated for social justice. Norma was an avid reader and gardener. She enjoyed word games and crossword puzzles.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Mary (Dennis Herlihy) Cobb; grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Cobb; stepson, David (Lois) Nall; and niece, Judith (Ann Rendall) Gilliland.
Norma's family would like to thank the staff of 2 Victoria at Wesley Health Care Center for their kindness and excellent care over the past three years.
A family memorial service will take place at a later date.
