Saratoga Springs, NY – Anna V. Heekin, 91, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012.
Born May 28, 1920, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Louise Marie Kuhn Heekin.
Anna was a 1938 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. In 1942 she started working as a bookkeeper for Starbucks Dept. Store and continued her work there for over 40 years. She then went on to work as a bookkeeper for VanVoast & Leonard Insurance Co. and Wise Insurance Co. retiring in 1986.
Anna was a kind and giving person who, so generously, gave of herself to those she cared about. She was a caregiver to many people throughout her life and did so with every part of her being. Anna had many talents including baking, cooking and crocheting and her greatest gift was leaving behind so many happy memories to those who were blessed to have her in their lives.
In addition to her parents, Anna is predeceased by two sisters, Kathryn and Mary; and close family friend, Joe McGirr.
Survivors include her dear friends and caregivers, Anne Boyar and Dottie (John) Hunter; close family friends, George Wilson, Jr. and Robert Wilson Sr.; and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at The Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave., Saratoga Springs.
