Friedman Judaica Technical Services Librarian in the Judaica Division of the Harvard Library. Elizabeth will explore how the library documents all aspects of Jewish life: time periods, geographic areas, languages - all the way down to ephemera and junk mail. 2nd Annual Spring Social – Town of Wilton Democratic Committee
Join us on Tuesday, April 20 from 7–8 p.m. via Zoom for a presentation by Dr. Don Levy, Director of the Siena College Research Institute, home of the renowned Siena Polls. 2021 AFS Quilt block Viewing Reception
The quilt blocks are in and they’re spectacular!  Come see the magnificent blocks produced by our quilting friends from Plattsburg to North Carolina, and vote for your favorite.  This year’s theme, “Adirondack Mask-erade”, was chosen to represent our resilience to the pandemic. The blocks will be exhibited at the Adirondack Folk School, located at 51 Main St., Lake Luzerne on April 22, 2 – 5 p.m.  The public is invited to join us at a wine, cheese and hors d’oeuvre reception for our quilters the next day from 3 – 6 p.m. with a chance to vote. Raffle tickets for the finished quilt will be on sale at that time. The drawing will be held at the November Holiday Shop event. For more information call 518-696-2400.

Earth Day Program
Water is essential for all living organisms. Ballston Spa Public Library proudly announces a Zoom presentation, Our World’s Water: An Earth Day Event on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 7 p.m. Join Malta resident, Mike Hensler, an Aries Chemical (water Treatment Company) consultant as he presents, Our World’s Water. “Our World’s Water” is a brief overview of water, why it’s special, what today’s problem is, tomorrow’s looming crisis and what we must do. Together we can unite to lead water initiatives that will save Our World. This is event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required. Sign up for the Saratoga Elks Auxiliary Craft and Garage Sale 
Monthly sale will be outside on Saturday, April 24, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 22, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Club parking lot on Elks Lane. Admission is free with over 30 vendors; parking is great, bargains galore, and friends to meet. We offer household items, sports equipment, hand-made items, clothing, fabrics, jewelry, party vendors, pet supplies, food treats, and just about anything you can imagine. New vendors are signing up every month. An 8-foot table is $15; call Linda at 518-289-5470 for information or to sign up for a table(s). You may bring folding chairs for your convenience.  All Covid-19 guidelines will be followed; people must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Brown Bread & Bake Sale 
Simpson United Methodist Church, 1089 Rock City Rd, Rock City Falls (.4 mi south of Route 29) is hosting their famous Steamed Brown Bread and Bake Sale in time for Mother’s Day. Brown bread is a delicious, rich, and hearty treat loaded with molasses and raisins, that is steamed in coffee cans over a water bath.  It freezes well, keeps great in the fridge and is wonderful toasted with butter or cream cheese or eaten as is. Place your order by calling 518-885-4794 before Monday, April 26, leaving your name, phone number and desired number of loaves ($6.50 each).  Pick up dates are Friday, May 7, from 4 – 6 p.m., and Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. with a bake sale during Saturday’s pickup. Fly Casting Clinic
The Capital District Fly Fishers will be holding its annual Fly-Casting Clinic, Saturday, May 1 at the Town of Halfmoon Park, with a rain date of Sunday, May 2. The park is located at 162 Rte. 236 Halfmoon, NY 12065. The clinic runs from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Come learn to cast or get help to improve your casting skills.  If you have a rod, bring it. If you do not one will be provided. There is a $20 fee to cover cost. Horse Tack Swap Meet
To celebrate the completion of the new Horse Arena the Washington County Fairgrounds will be kicking off the 2021 season with a Horse Tack Swap Meet on Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Many have spent 2020 organizing barns, attics, and basements, now take the final step and get rid of your gently used horse-related tack and equipment! Businesses and Non-Profits with equine-related business and services are welcome to apply for booth space as well. Booth Spaces are $10. for a 10x10 booth - set up a table or bring your horse trailer or truck to display your items for sale. Booth signs ups are available on the Washington County Fairground website or by calling the Fairgrounds at 518-692-2464.Though out the day equine demonstrations on equine care and equine-related events presented by the Washington County Draft Animal Association and the Tri-State Liberty Club will be happening throughout the grounds. Whether you have been around horses your whole life or just getting started this event is sure to have something for everyone!

Southern Saratoga Art Society
Two featured artists during the months of April and May 2021 in The Gallery of the Clifton Park Senior Center, 6 Clifton Common Blvd., Clifton Park.  Faith Weldon and Joan VanAlphen are well known throughout the area, both are members of various art groups and won numerous awards for their pieces.  Faith works in several mediums including watercolors, fluid acrylics, collage, and pastels.  She is inspired by the outdoor world and developing paintings from her imagination. Some of her works include Victorian Ladies, wine bottle collages and musicians. Joan paints in both oils and watercolors.  Her passions include abstract painting and working in acrylics.   She especially enjoys painting landscapes and flowers. SSAS member Neil Sergott will be exhibiting at the Mechanicville Public Library, 190 N. Main Street, Mechanicville during March and April.  His subject matter is taken from the local Hudson River Valley Region.  Neil is an accomplished photographer who has a keen eye for finding beauty in this marvelous region.
