5th Annual Beekman Street Art Fair 

The Arts District on Beekman from Grand Ave to West Circular, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

A free family friendly event.  over fifty juried artists will set up individual tents displaying fine art including painting, photography and lithographs and fine craft including pottery, jewelry, woodworking, and textiles. This event also features a children’s art tent and a large performance tent. This year our Children’s Art Park will be nature based and will be aided by Beekman Street’s Community Roots Preschool. At several stations children will be able to create seed art mandalas, rainbow watercolor butterflies on coffee filter paper, make mother earth marble art and participate in a “Community Message Mural.” Come creatively collaborate with your children. Flag Disposal Ceremony 

Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, 9 a.m.

The U.S. Flag Code suggests that when a flag has served its useful purpose, “it should be destroyed, preferably by burning.” For individual citizens, this should be done discreetly so the act of destruction is not perceived as a protest or desecration.  Individuals, businesses, government offices and organizations seeking proper disposal of their worn flags are invited to drop them off in the administration office at the cemetery. All are invited to attend this ceremony. You do not have to be a veteran to attend.

  • Saratoga County Court Saratoga County District attorney Karen Heggen announced 49-year-old Anthony Gargano of Gansevoort pleaded guilty in Milton Town Court on March 5 to a violation of the state Agricultural and Markets Law, a misdemeanor, in connection with a Jan. 4 incident. An investigation by the county Sheriff’s Office revealed that Gargano abandoned a cat, named Kane, after regular business hours outside the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, Heggen said, and that on Shelter cameras, Gargano is seen leaving the cat without shelter and driving away.
