SARATOGA SPRINGS — Students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Early Childhood Education program and SkillsUSA at WSWHE BOCES are putting a spin on Halloween, with the third annual Trucks & Treats.
On Saturday. Oct. 28, from 2 to 5 p.m., trucks from local businesses will roll down to the F. Donald Myers Education Center at 15 Henning Rd in Saratoga Springs, gather in the parking lot, and give out treats to the public. Additional food items will be available for purchase, according to a press release from WSWHE BOCES.
Back hoes, excavators, dump trucks, cement trucks, a ladder truck, a tow plow, and tractor trailers will be some of the types of trucks on display, the release states. WSWHE BOCES alumni and staff will also participate by decorating their vehicles.
“We are excited to provide this fun, safe environment for children, teens and their families to attend Trucks & Treats at our Saratoga campus,” said Early Childhood Education Instructor Shannon Bitzer in the release. “We hope the community will come out to see the trucks, get their favorite candy, and have fun.”
The event had an estimated attendance between 3,000 and 4,000 last year, the release states. Trucks & Treats is free to attend.
Local businesses paid a registration fee, which will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors. Donation boxes will be available for each site to support the scholarship fund.
