Music Program Offers Three Holiday-Themed Concerts

ALBANY — The Music Program of the University at Albany’s Department of Music and Theatre will present three holiday-themed performances in December. 

The annual Holiday Concert is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, and is followed by Twelve Drummers Drummin’ at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5. 

The Festival Celebration Choir and UAlbany Chamber Singers will share a program of “Carols from Near and Far” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.  All three concerts will take place at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown University at Albany campus at 1400 Washington Avenue. 

The Holiday Concert will feature four departmental ensembles and two student groups in a program celebrating the season.  The UAlbany Community Chorale, UAlbany Chamber Singers, UAlbany Concert Band, UAlbany Jazz Band, UAlbany Symphony Orchestra, Serendipity and Pitch Please are all slated to perform.

Advance tickets to the concerts on Dec. 4 & 5 are $5 for the general public and $3 for students, seniors and UAlbany faculty-staff.  Tickets purchased on the day of the shows are $10 for the general public and $8 for students, seniors and UAlbany faculty-staff. Tickets to the December 11 concert are $5 for UAlbany students, $10 for UAlbany employees and $20 for the general public.
