Saratoga Gymnasts Compete at States;
Dallas Breaks Section 2 Vault Record (Again)

Saratoga Springs High School gymnasts took the show on the road this past Saturday, March 2, to compete at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Gymnastics Championships in Cold Spring Harbor, New York.  The trio of Laura Eberlein, Ava Dallas and Sophia Damiano earned their way to States by taking the top three all-around spots at the Section 2 Gymnastics Championships held on February 13 at Shaker High School.  In addition to these three, two other Saratoga gymnasts qualified for States as well – Kate Della Ratta (in the uneven bars) and Megan Wishart (in the vault).

At the State Meet, Ava Dallas led the contingent of Toga gymnasts by placing 13th in the all-around with a score of 35.825.  Laura Eberlein was 14th in the all-around with a score of 35.500 and Sophia Damiano was 20th with an all-around score of 34.075.  Megan Wishart placed 28th in the vault and Kate Della Ratta placed 43rd on the bars.

Dallas’ vault was a Section 2 record besting the previous record (9.425) set by Dallas earlier this season.  This is the second year in a row that Dallas placed 7th on the vault at the State Meet.

The Saratoga Springs gymnastics team has won 18 straight Section 2 crowns.
