George Lorenz Muller

GREENFIELD CENTER — George Lorenz Muller left this earth very peacefully at home and his spirit was brought up to the heavens, just as he wanted, on September 6, 2022. He was 85 years old.

George was born in Brooklyn, NY. Later, in 1945 his family moved to Greenfield Center. During his early years, he remembered living with his beloved grandmother Inga (Mormor), whom he thought of as an “Angel of God ” and the “most caring person he knew;” and his caring grandfather, Arthur (Betta). He attended Saratoga City Schools, graduating in 1954. George enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation, proudly serving for 4 years learning to be a dental hygienist. Upon the honorable completion of his service, he then worked for Norton Star Company in Syracuse, followed by Sullivan-Schein in Saratoga as a dental equipment repair technician for many years. George enjoyed traveling to many different dental offices and was well known and sought out for his ability to repair dental equipment. He always talked very fondly about his work partners, Al and Lloyd and their work adventures.

George was an avid flight enthusiast and obtained his pilot license in 1969. He loved to go to the airport, especially with his children and grandchildren to watch planes take off and land. He thoroughly enjoyed his job repairing dental equipment. George’s main avocation, especially during his retirement, was to answer the call of his children to come and fix (anything). He always displayed sheer determination and a laser focus to solve whatever mechanical problem was presented to him.

George was the son of Esther Marie Trulsen Muller and George Lorentz Stilo Muller, of Fevik Norway, Brooklyn and Greenfield Center. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, (David and Peter). He is survived by his loving family, his beloved wife and loving mother of his five children, Virginia Chase Muller and son, George Muller and his wife, Lisa and daughters, Brenda Crawford and her husband, James, Pamela Muller, Cathleen Mele and her husband, Robert and Christine Neal and her husband, Matthew; grandchildren Mindy Nyarady, Corinn Crawford, Matthew Crawford, Megan Johnny, Robert Mele, Katelyn Muller, Lydia Baptist, George (Jake) Muller and Ethan Mele and great-granddaughter, Iris Sage Muller. He is also survived by his brothers, Fredrik, Robert, Daniel, Leonard, Glenn, John and sister, Elizabeth and many extended family members and friends.

George was an excellent provider to his family and loved all his children and grandchildren. He was a very generous man, especially in the giving of his time. George was always thinking, using his wisdom, and reflecting so he could give precise guidance to help solve any problem that we might have. He was a caring grandfather and took a keen interest in his grandchildren. His presence in all our lives will be sorely missed, but he will remain in our hearts forever.

A funeral with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY 12871. Please arrive at 10:45 a.m.
