Charles B.Prock Sr.

GANSEVOORT — Charles B. Prock Sr. peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1936, in Cohoes, NY, the son of the late John and Rita (Ashley) Prock.

Charles graduated from Cohoes High School, where he was involved in many sports, such as track and field, football, and basketball, but his real joy was baseball.  Charles was invited to try-out for the Pittsburgh Pirates right out of high school.  He coached Little League and girls’ softball.  Charles enjoyed playing golf as he was a member of a few leagues. He was an honorary life member of Saratoga Council 246 Knights of Columbus Third degree and Saratoga Assembly 745 Fourth Degree, having served as a former member of the Color Corps. He was an avid NY Mets and NY Jets fan but, definitely not a Yankees fan.

He was employed by companies such as Cohoes Hospital, Saratoga Hospitals, Ford Motor Company and the County of Saratoga, as the Director and/or Supervisor of Information Technologies.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, married on January 2, 1960, Cynthia Prock; children, Terri (Micheal Giaquinto), Charles Prock Jr. (Carrie Pinzer) and Kris ( Jeff Lawton); grandchildren, Tim, Jaymee, Katie, Jenna, AJ and Josh; nephews, nieces and many friends.

He is predeceased by his siblings, John Prock Jr. and Rosemary Jesmain.

Relatives and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 7, at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funerals, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, a funeral home service will begin at 1:30 p.m.

A burial with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
