Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival Stay Home Sessions
Online via Caffe Lena’s YouTube Channel | 8 p.m.

Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Absolutely Live Entertainment, in partnership with Caffè Lena announce “Freihofer’s Jazz Fest Stay Home Sessions,” presented in lieu of the 2020 Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival. Headlined by national artists, Jazz Fest Stay Home Sessions will also feature acclaimed local musicians. Saratoga Financial Services will be hosting the event in recognition of Earth Day! All paper will be shredded, baled, and shipped to local paper mills to be recycled for reuse. The event is free of charge, but monetary donations will be accepted to benefit the local Act With Respect Always program to help spread the “pay it forward” movement! Slow Roll Bike Ride

Pump up your tires and celebrate summer biking with an all ages slow roll on the streets of Saratoga Springs.  Helmets encouraged; masks are a must.  Hosted by Bicycle Benefits, Palette Cafe, Bikeatoga and Impressions of Saratoga on the last Sunday of EVERY month.  Ride rolls out from Palette Cafe at 10:15 a.m. sharp so roll over early to grab a bite to eat or drink.  Cruisers, road bikes, tandems welcome.  We will ride at ~10 mph for 6-8 miles and finish at Humpty Dumpty’s Ice Cream at ~12 p.m.

Hangings, Riots, and Strikes: 19th Century Mobilizations of the NY National Guard
New York State Military Museum, 61 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs | 2 p.m.

Gary Mitchell, a West Point graduate and historian of the New York National Guard, explores the role of the National Guard in maintaining order throughout the social turbulence of the 19th century, a story he considers a mix of tragedy, comedy, and heroism. Free and open to the public.

Heritage Hunters: Genealogy & Local History 
Town of Saratoga Town Hall, Corner of Rt. 4 and Rt. 29, Schuylerville | 1 p.m.
Chris Martin, Chief of Natural and Cultural Resources for the Saratoga National Historic Park will discuss an archaeological dig that took place in May 2019. Led by William Griswold, veterans focused on a short battle in 1777 that changed the course of the Revolutionary War. The goal of the dig was to help determine where the different troops fought. Used was aerial survey, metal detecting, digging, and ground penetrating radar. Public is welcome. For information call Ginny at 518-885-9309.

Electronic Wearable Art

GPS Scavenger Hunt

Ninjas Winter Break Camp

Ages 5-15. Ninjas will be put into groups of similar ability. Age-appropriate/specific drills will always be used, with a heightened emphasis on skill and long-term athlete development. Every child will be engaged and having fun, while building strength and self-confidence and finding their inner-ninja! Class ratio: 8:1. Max number of campers: 48. Imagination Rules

Ages 5-7. Let your budding artist spend some time creating and making new friends where Imagination Rules! This half-day camp is just for younger artists ages 5-7, with projects and ideas geared specifically for their age group. NYS or BOCES certified teachers will help campers explore the world of art with materials that real artists use while learning about important artists that help inspire their projects. Campers typically create 4-6 masterpieces of their very own! A typical day includes two sessions dedicated to learning about and making art with a break at 10:15 a.m. for snack. Campers will learn about and experience the collaborative nature of theater, exploring all the art forms required to bring a play to life. Together they will learn the basics of character development, stage directions and the basics of set and costume design as they work toward the performance of their play in our very own Dee Sarno Theater for family and friends at the end of the week. Camp Creativity
