Saratoga Springs, NY – Richard Earl Robenstein of Saratoga Springs died suddenly on April 13, 2021. Born in Hackensack, NJ he was the son of the late Richard A Robenstein and Marguerite Earl Robenstein. He graduated from Northern Regional High School in 1967. He began his successful nuclear career in the US Navy. He held a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. When leaving the Navy he went to work for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA.  After leaving Westinghouse he moved on to become Vice President of ECI, forming a nuclear training division. After a few years he formed his own very successful nuclear consulting firm ETC/ETCI and finishing his career at Entergy Corporation.

Rich loved most of all spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and golfing. He was an active member of the Ballston Spa Elks Lodge #2619. While in the Elks he served as the Veterans Chair.  A committee very dear to his heart.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Randolph Earl Robenstein and a sister Rita Ellen Robenstein Procter.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Candyce Haley Robenstein, two sons Richard Earl Robenstein II and Christopher Earl Robenstein, grandsons Richard Earl Robenstein III, Tyler Jacob Robenstein and Connor Ryan Robenstein.

 A memorial service will be celebrated at the Historic Church of St Peter’s on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave.  Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing& Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

Spc. Abigail Rose Jenks

WILTON — Spc. Abigail Rose “Abby” Jenks, 20, of Challedon Drive, died Monday, April 19, 2021 during a static line training jump from a helicopter. She was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC.

Born on November 18, 2000 in Pensacola, FL, Abby was the daughter of Mary Jenks and Anthony Taglianetti. She grew up in the Greenfield-Saratoga area. Abby participated in 4-H and had a passion for animals.

She was a 2018 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and then enlisted in the US Army. She was a fire support specialist serving as a forward observer with the brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment. “Spc. Abigail Jenks was a creative, hardworking, and confident paratrooper,” said Army Capt. Brian Norman, who commanded Jenks’ artillery battery. “Her love for art, animals, and her friends reverberated wherever she worked, (and) her compassion for fellow paratroopers will be truly missed.” She was an accomplished artist and tattoo artist.

Abby was engaged to be married to her Fiancé Sgt. Shane Allen Warren Grant of Fort Bragg, NC.

BALLSTON SPA — Kenneth Murdie, 89, our loving husband and father, passed away on March 8, 2021. 

Kenneth was born June 20, 1931 in Ogdensburg, NY to his parents William and Bertha Duvall Murdie. Ken married Joanne Mary Ramsey April 4, 1994.

Ken loved the outdoors with a passion towards farming and gardening. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Always with a smile and joke. Always a helping hand to anyone in need.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, 16 siblings, sons, Kenny and John Murdie, grandson Michael Murdie. He is survived by his wife Joanne. Also, he is survived by his former wife Patricia Murdie Hansen and children Vickie (Jeff) Snyder, Kenny Murdie (Dorie), Debra (Ken) Ballard, Kevin (Laura) Murdie, Tim (Patricia) Murdie, Lisha (Dave Blake) Flinton, John Murdie, Robert Murdie, Billy Murdie, Pam Murdie, Chris Murdie, Renee Murdie.

He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So, dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand, in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the heart of all of you.
