Congregation Shaara Tfille to show “Sublet” Film

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Congregation Shaara Tfille and The Jewish Community Center of Saratoga Springs present the film Sublet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 as part of the 2023 Saratoga Jewish Cultural Festival. The presentation is in celebration of LGBTQ National Pride Month.

Sublet is a 2020 Israeli-American romantic comedy-drama about Michael, a gay New York Times travel writer, who travels to Tel Aviv after suffering a personal tragedy. He finds that the energy of the city and his relationship with Tomer, a younger man, with a life philosophy that clashes with his own, puts their different lives into perspective. It is a moving film about missed opportunities and the need to move forward. This film contains explicit, adult content, and children under 17 will not be admitted without a parent or guardian.

There is a $5 admission charge that also includes light refreshments. RSVP to likebertrand518@gmail.com and call Congregation Shaara Tfille at 518-584-2370 for additional information. The film will be screened at Congregation Shaara Tfille, 84 Weibel Ave.

Following the film showing there will be a Q&A opportunity with the film’s director, Eytan Fox, who will live stream from New York City, as well as a discussion with Libby Post, a long-time LGBTQ activist and devoted member of Congregation Ohav Shalom.
