Saratoga First Day 5K

Join us on January 1 at the Saratoga Springs City Center, located at 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs at 11 a.m. for a great community event in Saratoga Springs as we kick off the new year! Stuffed Chicken Breast Dinner

Saratoga – Wilton Elks Lodge #161 located at 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs, presents a Stuffed Chicken Breast Dinner for curbside pick up only on Wednesday, January 4, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. Call Monday or Tuesday between 10 a.m. – Noon to place an order. 518-584-2585. Menu: Boneless stuffed chicken breast with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable, cranberry sauce, roll, tossed salad. Dinner for 2 / $30. (Cash only). 

Poetry Reading

On Wednesday, January 4, Caffè Lena will present a poetry reading by Sparrow, An open mic poetry reading will follow. Doors open for sign-ups at 6:30 p.m. and the readings will start at 7 p.m. The host for the event will be Carol Graser and the cost is $5 general, free for students. Finance Committee Meeting

The Galway Public Library’s Finance Committee will meet at the library, located at 2112 East St., Galway, on January 5 at 5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. More information at 518-882-6385.

Moonlight Hike

Kids Day at the Saratoga Auto Museum

Join the Saratoga Auto Museum, located at 110 Avenue of the Pines, Saratoga Springs on January 16, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  for a fun filled day for kids while school is out! Hands on activities from the Saratoga Children’s Museum, the National Museum of Racing, Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs Publishing, Hop Along Home Rabbit Sanctuary, and Wired Coffee. Make a light up car out of play dough, explore physics with Hot Wheels and more! Free admission for youth 14 and under. Adults $10.

Hattie’s Restaurant Mardi Gras Fundraiser

Mardi Gras returns to Saratoga Springs on Saturday, January 28 at the Canfield Casino. An evening of delicious dining and dancing while supporting a great cause. Alisyn Camerota, anchor with CNN will be the emcee. Business for Good co-founders, Ed, and Lisa Mitzen, will serve as event hosts. The event will feature music from Soul Session and Garland Nelson, as well as a silent auction with packages from a variety of local businesses to bid on. Southern Saratoga Art Society Exhibits

Exhibits at two locations during January and February.  Clifton Park Senior Community Center Gallery, 6 Clifton Commons Ct., in Clifton Park will be featuring the artwork of Valerie Woodward and Valerie Wolf. These unique artists will feature an eclectic mix of artwork and use of vibrant colors in landscapes, still-life, paint pouring, realism to abstract, using acrylics, watercolor, pen, and watercolor pencil collages.  The Mechanicville Library, 190 N. Main St. in Mechanicville will feature artist Barbara Hurley.  Barbara paints in acrylics, oils, and watercolors which includes portraits in oils and recent works in Acrylics.  Barbara will donate any proceeds from sales to the Round Lake Methodist Church.  For further information, visit: southernsaratogaartist.com or Facebook.
