Robert Loren Rotner 

EAST HAMPTON, NY – Robert Loren Rotner, 93, died peacefully on February 19, 2026, at his home in East Hampton, NY. He was born in Yonkers, son of Philip and Minna (Retman) Rotner. After graduating from Amherst College, he completed his studies with a degree from Columbia University School of Architecture and traveled to Europe on a school-sponsored fellowship. He returned to New York City to practice. His many early projects included public and private work as a partner at Vollmer Associates, culminating in the completion of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, in Saratoga Springs, as head architect. Later Bob worked primarily in residential architecture. He spent the last years of his life in East Hampton with his companion and fellow architect Michael Uzzi, enjoying his art and the natural environment. He is survived by his brother Evan and his wife Sheila and five nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his older brother Howard. At his request a private memorial will be held in the fall.
