Saratoga Hospital Adds Primary Care Physician In Mechanicville

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Mark Chalmers, MD, has joined Saratoga Hospital Medical Group Primary Care – Mechanicville. He is in practice with Carrie McNeil, MD; Stephen Sgambati, MD; and Krista Gardner, physician assistant.

 Dr. Chalmers comes to Saratoga Hospital from UPMC Altoona in Pennsylvania where he completed a residency in family medicine. UPMC Altoona is part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center health network.

“Dr. Chalmers was drawn to the opportunity to practice in a close-knit community and, as part of a multidisciplinary medical group, provide patients with easy access to high-quality specialty care,” said Scarlet Clement-Buffoline, executive director, Saratoga Hospital Medical Group. “We, in turn, were impressed with his commitment to his patients and to giving back.”

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Chalmers earned a medical degree from Albany Medical College, Saratoga Hospital’s partner in the Albany Med Health System. In addition, he holds bachelor’s degrees from Siena College in Loudonville and the College of Saint Rose in Albany. As a student, he volunteered at the Joan Nicole Prince Home for terminally ill patients in Scotia and Community Hospice in Albany.
