Minita Sanghvi: Unavailable

Individuals trying to communicate with elected Saratoga Springs city official Minita Sanghvi have not only been unable to reach her, but they have also received some interesting automatic responses.

I wrote to Finance Commissioner Sanghvi on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, and received the following email in response.

The Email

Sanghvi’s fellow council members, city employees, and others with business before the city routinely used city email to communicate. It is vital for elected officials to regularly check their email for messages. According to this automatic response, Commissioner Sanghvi oddly will not check her email until March 14. I assume this referred to March 14, 2025, almost two months ago, not March 2026.

It’s Only A Part-time Job

Lest readers think Sanghvi’s above message is just an anomaly, consider her email response on May 1.

Here, she warns people trying to contact her that for her, “this is a parttime (sic)  position, and I do not check my email every day.”

Her message provides some insight as to why, among other issues, after a year and a half, she has been unable to deploy the software the city paid for to archive its cell phones’ text messages and why the IT department under her continues to remain understaffed. She is simply cavalier about devoting time to properly manage her responsibilities.
