Blotter Report

Between Augst 11 and August 16, the Saratoga Springs Police reported 594 incidents in their blotter report. This number includes duplicate incidents, unfounded, and non-emergency incidents. The top three listed incident types reported in this time are: 

1. 116 Traffic Stops

2. 35 Welfare Checks

3. 32 911 open line incidents

For the State Police, between August 12and August 18, New York State Police reported 263 incidents that didn’t result in arrest in their daily blotter reports. In addition, State Police arrested 18 people on 31 charges and identified 84 people as being involved in vehicle accidents. The most common incident reported by State Police was a property damage accident with 33 incidents. The top three municipalities for incidents are: 

1. 53 in Clifton Park 

2. 49 in Malta 

3. 34 in Wilton

August 12, 2026. 1:04 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Glens Falls resident on charges of 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Arrest occurred on West Avenue

August 12, 2026. 1:34 a.m.- New York State Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident in the City of Saratoga Springs on charges of misdemeanor DWI- first offense. Appearance ticket issued. 

August 12, 2026. 1:44 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident on charges of 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Arrest occurred on West Avenue.

August 12, 2026. 6:55 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a homeless/transient individual on charges of 3rd degree criminal trespass: property fenced in or enclosed. Arrest occurred on South Broadway.

August 12, 2026. 5:18 p.m.- New York State Police arrested a Gansevoort resident on  charges of misdemeanor 2nd degree criminal contempt, and aggravated harassment- threaten by telephone/ no legitimate purpose. Original incident occurred on June 27. Investigation pending.

August 12, 2026. 7:52 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident on charges of 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Arrest occurred on Crescent Street.

August 12, 2026. 8:45 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident on charges of criminal contempt: disobey court and aggravated family offense. Arrest occurred on Waterbury Street.

August 13, 2026. 12:33 p.m.- New York State Police arrested a Gansevoort resident in the Town of Moreau on charges of misdemeanor 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Held- no bail.

August 13, 2026. 3:22 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Gansevoort resident on charges of petit larceny. Arrest occurred on West Avenue. 

August 13, 2026. 9:25 p.m.- New York State Police arrested a Ballston Spa resident in the Town of Galway on charges of misdemeanor 2nd degree criminal contempt: disobey court. Appearance ticket issued. 

August 13, 2026. 11:07 p.m.- New York State Police arrested a Mechanicville resident in the Town of Malta on charges of misdemeanor DWI- first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher- first offense. Appearance ticket issued. 

August 14, 2026. 12:08 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident on charges of 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a moto vehicle impaired by drugs- first offense and other traffic offenses. Arrest occurred at Route 9 and West Road.

August 14, 2026. 2:00 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Berlin, MA resident on charges of DWI- first offense. Arrest occurred at Broadway and Spring Street.

August 14, 2026. 11:25 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Saratoga Springs resident on charges DWI- first offense. Arrest occurred at Geyser Road and Ballston Ave.

August 15, 2026. 12:37 a.m.- New York State Police arrested a Gansevoort resident in the Town of Moreau on charges of misdemeanor DWI- first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher. Appearance ticket issued. 

August 15, 2026. 1:50 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Ballston Spa resident on charges of 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Arrest occurred on Middle Line Road.

August 15, 2026. 3:46 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested an Albany resident on charges of 3rd degree grand larceny: property value exceeds $3000. Arrest occurred on State Route 50.

August 15, 2026. 3:26 a.m.- New York State Police arrested a Schenectady resident in the Village of Ballston Spa on charges of misdemeanor DWI- first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher. Appearance ticket issued. 

August 15, 2026. 1:12 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Ballston Spa resident on charges of petit larceny. Arrest occurred on Ballston Avenue.

August 15, 2026. 5:59 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Wilton resident on charges of general violation of local law and taxicab/livery failed to post the seatbelt available notice. Arrest occurred at the intersection of Putnam and Phila Streets.

August 15, 2026. 6:51 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Schenectady resident on charges of general violation of local law and taxicab/livery failed to post seatbelt available notice. Arrest occurred at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Adams Street.

August 15, 2026. 11:17 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Moreau resident on charges of 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon and 2nd degree menacing: weapon. Arrest occurred on Congress Street.

August 16, 2026. 1:21 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Schenectady resident on charges of charges DWI- first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher- first offense and other traffic offenses. Arrest occurred at the intersection of Route 50 and East Avenue.

August 16, 2026. 1:47 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Ballston Spa resident on charges DWI- first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher- first offense and other traffic offenses. Arrest occurred at the intersection of South Broadway and West Fenlon Street. 

August 16, 2026. 4:35 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Troy resident on charges of DWI- first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher- first offense and other traffic offenses. Arrest occurred on Church Street.

August 16, 2026. 11:51 a.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a homeless/transient individual on charges of 3rd degree criminal trespass: property fenced in or enclosed. Arrest occurred on Union Ave.

August 16, 2026. 11:30 p.m.- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a homeless/transient individual on charges of trespass. Arrest occurred on Circular Street.

August 18, 2026. 7:19 a.m.- New York State Police arrested a Lake Luzerne resident in the Town of Wilton on charges of misdemeanor 2nd degree menacing: weapon and two counts of 3rd degree assault: with intent to cause physical injury. Central arraignment.

August 18, 2026. 10:22 a.m.- New York State Police arrested an Albany resident in the Town of Malta on charges of felony 2nd degree grand larceny: amount exceeds $50,000. Appearance ticket issued. Original incident occurred on Aug. 7.

August 18, 2026. 11:31 p.m.- New York State Police arrested a Cohoes resident in the Town of Saratoga on charges of felony 3rd degree criminal mischief: damage to another person’s property- amount over $250, 2nd degree assault: intent to cause physical injury with weapon/instrument, 3rd degree criminal possession of a weapon: previous conviction, and misdemeanor 2nd degree menacing. Central arraignment.
