Justin Sherman, 43, of Gansevoort, pleaded Aug. 5 to failure to register as a sex offender, a felony, in Moreau. Sentencing Oct. 7. 

Bernard J. Adams, Jr., 44, of Schenectady, was sentenced Aug. 5 to 3 years in jail, in connection with the felony charge attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, in Malta. 

Adam S. Bateman, 30, of Moira, pleaded Aug. 5 to felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree, in Wilton. Sentencing Oct. 7. 

Angela Duross, 38, of Corinth, pleaded Aug. 5 to felony attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree. Sentencing Oct. 8. 

William J. Pfeiffer, 43, of Valatie, pleaded Aug. 5 to felony attempted assault, in Halfmoon. Sentencing Oct. 7. 

Kristopher M. Flores, 36, of Troy, pleaded Aug. 2 to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, a felony, in Wilton. Sentencing scheduled Sept. 27. 

David J. Hayes, 31, of Fort Edward, pleaded Aug. 3 to aggravated family offense, a felony, in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 28. 

Kenneth J. Hastings, 39, of Corinth, pleaded Aug. 3 to assault in the second-degree, a felony. Sentencing Oct. 8. 

Billy Jo Murdie, 46, of Milton, was sentenced Aug. 3 to five years of probation, after pleading to unlawful surveillance in the second-degree, a felony. 

POLICE

Chalmers D. Davis, 43, of Saratoga Springs was charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon – which rises to a felony based on a previous conviction, in connection with an incident that occurred on Caroline Street on Aug. 10. 

Nikki J. Atanasio, 45, of Clifton Park, was charged Aug. 3 with criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree, a felony, and harassment in the second-degree, a violation, after the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic incident call in Clifton Park where a man had allegedly threatened to kill a woman with a firearm, according to authorities. The results of a subsequent search warrant revealed a loaded Glock handgun with a defaced serial number and two loaded magazines, police said. 

Keojhi T. Branch, 26, of Catskill, was charged July 28 in the town of Milton with two counts of grand larceny and one count of identity theft. It is alleged that in April and May of 2020, Branch stole $4,395.18 in cash and merchandise. At the time, Branch was employed as a care provider in a residential facility for people with disabilities. Branch is suspected of taking a debit card belonging to a client and using that debit card to make unauthorized cash withdrawals and purchases for his personal benefit, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Branch is also accused of using an online retail account belonging to the victim to order merchandise for his benefit. 

James W. Major, 52, of Stillwater was charged Aug. 5 with the following misdemeanors: criminal contempt, criminal trespass, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, and with the traffic infraction: speed in zone. 

Frederick Volkman, 25, of Glens Falls, was charged Aug. 1 in Saratoga Springs with criminal trespass. 

Antonio Mercade, 22, was charged Aug. 1 in Saratoga Springs with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Richard Battistini, 22, of Amsterdam, was charged Aug. 1 in Saratoga Springs with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Ruby Daley, 21, of Troy, was charged Aug. 1 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, and failure to obey traffic control device. 

Robert Colvin, 43, of Northville, was charged Aug. 1 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and moving from lane unsafely. 

Chad Lang, 47, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Aug. 1 with criminal trespass. 

Brandon Wade, 23, of Hartford, NY was charged July 30 in Saratoga Springs with aggravated harassment, coercion, aggravated family offense, and criminal contempt.

Charlotte Perella, 19, of Ballston Spa, was charged July 31 in Saratoga Springs with possession of a forged instrument, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Megan Lanzetta, 42, of Albany, was charged July 31 in Saratoga Springs with misdemeanor DWI, refusal of breath test, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two driving infractions. 

Annual Saratoga Horse Farm Tour

Saratoga County — Cornell Cooperative Extension Equine (CCE Equine) in Saratoga County is hosting the annual Saratoga County Horse Farm Tour on Sunday, August 22 from 12-4 p.m. at participating farms. This is a free drive-it-yourself event offered to the community with a mission to promote the equine industry and give communities members the opportunity to experience life on a horse farm. 

The Saratoga Horse Farm tour is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, horse lovers and families will delight in meeting different breeds of horses and get a behind the scenes look at the horses that are frequently our neighbors here in Saratoga County. 

Participating Farms include: 

Cross Timbers Ranch: 122 Barney Road, Middle Grove. Cross Timbers Ranch is a 140 acre full service horse boarding facility. The facility includes a 140’ x 70’ indoor arena, round pens, exercise hills, a Texas Staircase, barrels, poles, multiple obstacle challenges and private trails

Mill Creek Farm: 1019 County Road 70, Stillwater. Mill Creek Farm is a family owned full service Thoroughbred breeding farm specializing in individual care, boarding, breeding and raising.

Stark Racing Stable: 247 County Route 68 Saratoga Springs. Stark Racing Stable is a 64-acre harness racing training facility with a half mile training track.
