Ballston Spa Community Honors Long Time Village Clerk Patty Bowers

Ballston Spa— It was a somber celebration of long-time village clerk Patricia “Patty” Bowers, who passed away earlier this spring. On Monday morning, community members and loved ones gathered across the street from the village offices on Front Street on what would have been her 75th birthday.
A tree now stands on Front Street in honor of a staunch public servant. Bowers would have been able to see from her office window where she worked for 25 years.
Locals may also know Bowers as “Ms. Claus” due to her 20 years of appearances as Mother Christmas in the Ballston Spa Christmas Parade.
Patty and her late husband Glenn, a Ballston Spa firefighter, had three children together: Kristina Bowers, Glenn Bowers, Jr., and Betsy Hutchison.
Senator Jim Tedisco wrote to Facebook, “[The tree will] serve as a tribute to a public servant without equal, a treasured daughter of the Village of Friends. May God bless and keep you, Patty, as we’ll continue to keep you in our hearts and memory.”
