Michael Arnold, 64, of Schuylerville, was charged Oct. 6 with eight misdemeanor counts and one felony count Criminal Contempt. Arnold is suspected of sending multiple messages – in violation of an order of protection – to a protected party, from a fictitious Facebook account between May 30 and July 16. He was sent to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 cash bail, $100,000 bond, or $300,000 partially secured bond.

Jamal Young, 32, of Albany, was sentenced Sept. 29 to 1 year incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny, charged November 2021 in Mechanicville. 

Jesus A. Perez, 23, of Schuylerville, was sentenced to 10 years’ probation, after pleading to rape in the third-degree, charged March 2022 in Saratoga. 

Brandon W. Brunell, 29, of Greenfield Center, pleaded to criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree, charged April 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Dec. 1. 

Juan J. Munguia, 34, of Greenfield Center, pleaded Oct. 2 to felony robbery, charged May 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Dec. 4.

Saratoga Springs Police

An arrest has been made regarding a suspected assault of two staff members at Saratoga Hospital earlier this month. Saratoga Springs Police announced Oct. 1, 60-year-old Hudson Falls man Scott W. Williams was taken into custody after the execution of an Arrest Warrant and charged with multiple felony counts of assault in the second-degree in connection with an incident that occurred at Saratoga Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 1. The victims in the assault – hospital staff performing their duties – suffered stab wounds, received treatment and have since been released from medical care, police said. Williams was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court and sent to the custody of the Saratoga County Sheriffs’ Office in lieu of $75,000 cash bail, $150,000 partially secured bond, or $750,000 secured bond.

Tricia Dahnke, 54, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Oct. 2 with one count each criminal sale, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Neil Lescault, 49, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Oct. 2 with criminal trespass. 

Hunter Chicaway, 20, of Cohoes, was charged Oct. 1 with DWI, and driving the wrong direction on a one-way. 

Cody Farr, 22, of Stillwater, was charged Oct. 1 with DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign, and refusal to take breath test.

NY State Police

On Sept. 27, State Police of Queensbury arrested Tony J. Prichard, 35, of Ballston Spa. Prichard was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree, grand larceny in the fourth-degree, four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second-degree and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. On Sept. 27, at about 9:46 p.m., Troopers responded to the Walmart in Queensbury for the report of a larceny in progress. The reported suspect, later identified as Prichard, fled in a vehicle with merchandise valued at over $1,000 prior to law enforcements’ arrival, according to police. Troopers located the vehicle and stopped it on Aviation Road in Queensbury, with the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Prichard was taken into custody, and the stolen property was recovered. Further investigation discovered multiple controlled substances, including felony-weight narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the alleged suspect’s vehicle. 

On Sept. 24, at about 2:51 a.m. State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on Geyser Road in Saratoga Springs, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as James B. Nash, 23, of Ballston Spa.  Nash was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations and was issued tickets returnable to the Saratoga Springs City Court on Oct. 20, and released to a sober third party.

On Sept. 24, at about 11:44 p.m., State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on Ballston Avenue in Saratoga Springs, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Meagan E. Mcguire, 39, of Ballston.  Mcguire was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations and was issued tickets returnable to the Saratoga Springs City Court on Oct. 10, and released to a sober third party.

Casey Mohan, 36, of Clifton Park, was sentenced Sept. 21 to 3-1/2 years incarceration/5 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony burglary, charged January 2023 in Providence, and 1-1/3 to 4 years incarceration after pleading to felony grand larceny in Greenfield charged February 2023.  Sentences to run concurrently.  

Herbert L. Marlow, 76, of Clifton Park, pleaded to two felony counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child. Sentencing Nov. 30. 

Cole D. Vincent, 54, of Troy, was sentenced Sept. 18 to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny, charged June 2023 in Clifton Park.

Patricia M. Pillar, 47, of Clifton Park, was sentenced Sept. 15 to 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to felony vehicular assault, charged July 4, 2002 in Wilton. 

James B. Foster, 60, of Northumberland, was sentenced Sept. 15 to 1-1/3 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony criminal contempt, charged May 2023 in Corinth. 

Saratoga County Court 

Justin P.  Rodriguez was sentenced Sept. 14 in Saratoga County Court to an aggregate maximum term of 22-1/2 years in state prison in connection with actions that caused the death of Alex Bleickhardt, Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen said in a statement. The incident involved a fatal crash along I-87 (the Northway) in Wilton on Sept. 15, 2022 when the 42-year-old Rodriguez approached a disabled box truck and a heavy-duty tow truck on the shoulder of the road, and making no effort to move over, slow down, or avoid a collision, rear-ended the box truck at 76 miles-per-hour, according the statement. The impact resulted in the death of Bleickhardt, the tow truck driver who was attending to the disabled box truck.  Rodriguez had a history of four prior drunk driving convictions and a permanently revoked driver’s license. Evidence presented at trial demonstrated that at the time of the crash Rodriguez’ blood-alcohol-concentration measured 0.26% – more than three times the legal limit, had cocaine and cannabis in his system, as well as being in possession, illegally, of a loaded semi-automatic pistol, Heggen said. Bleickhardt’s friends and family members attended the sentencing in Saratoga County Court, as did Bleickhardt’s canine companion, Moose, who was in the tow truck when Bleickhardt was struck and killed while attending to the disabled box truck. The sentencing included 12-1/2 to 25 years on an aggravated vehicular homicide charge and a 10-year consecutive sentence for criminal possession of a weapon.

Daniel Mooney, 34, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Sept. 7 with criminal possession of cannabis – more than 10 lbs, criminal possession of a controlled substance – hallucinogen, and criminal possession of cannabis – more than 4 lbs. concentrated. 

Trevor Temple, 27, of Ballston Spa, was charged Sept. 6 with DWI, leaving scene of a property damage accident, and moved from lane unsafely. 

Michael Kulls, 41, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Sept. 5 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and passing a red light. 

William Bonacci, 67, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Sept. 4 with petit larceny. 

Taylor Ruddy, 21, of Greenfield, was charged Sept. 3 with petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Angelo Catalano, 30, of Delmar, was charged Sept. 2 with DWI, and two driving-related charges.

NY State Police 

New York State Police issued 8,762 tickets and arrested 154 people for DWI during this year’s Labor Day weekend DWI enforcement period. The initiative, which targeted impaired and reckless drivers, began on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, and continued through the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept.  4, 2023. In the greater Capital Region specifically, there were 10 DWI arrests. During the campaign, which was funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the New York State Police increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers. In addition to the DWI checkpoints and patrols, Troopers were also watching for distracted drivers, vehicle occupants who were not properly buckled up, and drivers that were violating the Move Over Law. As part of the enforcement, Troopers also targeted speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. Tickets that were issued during this period include: Speeding – 3,407; Distracted Driving – 203; Seatbelt violations – 383; Move Over Law – 126. Troopers used both marked State Police vehicles and Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement (CITE) vehicles as part of this crackdown in order to more easily identify motorists who are violating the law. CITE vehicles allow the Trooper to better observe driving violations.  These vehicles blend in with everyday traffic but are unmistakable as emergency vehicles once the emergency lighting is activated. Over the 2022 Labor Day weekend, Troopers arrested 208 people for DWI and investigated 139 personal injury crashes, including three fatalities, and issued 9,748 tickets.

Sean Bass, 34, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and grand larceny in the fourth-degree firearms/rifles/shotguns. 

Brian McLucas, 38, of Greenwich, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Brendan Desharnais, 27, of Brooklyn, was charged with harassment. 

Justin Degener, 25, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with DWI. 

Vander Hart, 22, of Amsterdam, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Nathaniel Ketter, 22, of Albany, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and escape – third-degree. 

Emerald Mentor, 22, of Schenectady, was charged with obstruct governmental administration. 

Cheyenne Goodsill, 20, Kenneth Cravotta, 39, and Ryan Dobson, 35 – all of Gloversville, were each charged with charged with one misdemeanor count petit larceny. 

Chastant Shontz, 21, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with criminal mischief. 

Michael Abraham, 33, of Halfmoon, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

Mitchum White, 36, of Ballston Spa, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny. 

Joseph Murray, 48, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with harassment. 

Conor Ryle, 20, of Milton, was charged with criminal trespass. 

James Millington, 62, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with criminal trespass. 

Tracy Loucks, 53, of Voorheesville, was charged with resisting arrest, and criminal trespass. 

Edward Northrup, 42, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with criminal mischief, criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense. 

Brandin Marble, 33, of South Glens Falls, was charged with assault, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Jordan Jones, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and two driving violations. 

On Sunday, Sept. 3, Saratoga Springs Police were called to Ben and Jerry’s on Phila Street for a reported robbery, after a lone male suspect had entered the establishment and advised an employee that he was robbing the store. A weapon was implied but not displayed, police said. The suspect allegedly obtained cash from the register and left the scene. No one was injured during the incident. 

While SSPD was conducting its investigation, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a robbery that occurred at the Stewart’s Shop on Route 9 and Cherry Choke Road in Malta. An SSPD Officer was able to locate a suspect on Route 9 near Cherry Choke Road, who matched the description of the suspect of both robberies.

After subsequent on-scene investigation by SSPD and SCSO, 40-year-old Daniel P. McKay II, of Amsterdam, was located at a nearby motel, arrested and charged with felony robbery. McKay is additionally facing a second count of felony robbery in Saratoga Springs. He was sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. 

City Police commended the staff at Ben & Jerry’s for remaining calm during the incident and taking swift action that assisted the gathering of evidence.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check call on Huntridge Drive in the town of Clifton Park Sept. 7. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of 28-year-old Matthew D. Sand, of Clifton Park. Sand is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to another person and of applying pressure to that person’s throat or neck with the intention of impeding her normal breathing or blood circulation, thus causing her to lose consciousness, according to the sheriff’s office.  

Sand was charged with strangulation in the second-degree – a felony, and assault in the third-degree, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Malta Town Court in the absence of Clifton Park justices and released to pre-trial services pending further action in the matter.

Maurice Trichilo, 34, of Albany, was sentenced Aug. 22 to serve 4-1/2 years incarceration and 2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree. Trichilo was arrested as part of a drug investigation of activities taking place across multiple counties, resulting in his arrest for having nearly a quarter-kilo of cocaine – with a street value of more than $20,000, Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen said in a statement. 

Richard S. Simmons, 49, of Greenfield, was sentenced Aug. 23 to 4 years incarceration/2 years post-release supervision, after pleading to attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, charged December 2022 in Corinth. 

John J. Wolcott, 52, of Waterford, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to criminal contempt in the first-degree. 

Isaac R. Harris, 19, of Stillwater, was sentenced to 3.5 years incarceration/3 years post-release supervision after pleading to felony assault.

Tabitha R. Calise, 34, of Rexford, was sentenced to 1 year incarceration, after pleading to felony DWAI.

Nancy J. McCowan, 42, of Lexington, Kentucky, was sentenced to 5 years’ probation/60 hours of Community Work service, after pleading to felony DWI, charged April 2023 in Clifton Park. 

Virgilio D. Smith, 27, of Schenectady, was sentenced to 4 years incarceration/5 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony assault, charged May 2022 in Saratoga Springs. 

George Licata, 55, of Lake Luzerne, was sentenced to 6 months incarceration/5 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony DWAI, charged May 2023 in Saratoga Springs. 

Stephen D. Gizzi, 39, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to felony criminal contempt, charged September 2016 in Ballston Spa. 

Dominick J. Salustri, 56, of Mechanicville, pleaded to criminal contempt, and assault – both misdemeanors – charged March 2023 in Stillwater. Sentencing Nov. 6. 

NY State Police

On Aug. 29, State Police of Saratoga arrested David A. Fink, 27, of Ballston. Fink was charged with arson in the second degree, and reckless endangerment in the first-degree. Both charges are felonies. 

Troopers responded to an apartment complex on Dominic Drive in Ballston at approximately 2:20 a.m., following a report of a structure fire. The Ballston Spa Fire Department isolated and extinguished the fire, which they determined to be suspicious. The State Police Saratoga Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Fire Investigators from the Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management and New York State Fire Investigators responded to the scene to investigate. The joint investigation determined that the fire was intentionally started in Fink’s apartment. Additionally, it was determined that the fire suppression system and fire alarms in Fink’s apartment were disabled prior to the fire being ignited. Fink was located later in the day outside the apartment complex and arrested. 

Saratoga County Court

Jessica R. Bellon, 33, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced Aug. 18 to 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to DWAI, charged June 2022 in the town of Ballston. 

Quazey N. Robinson, 23, of Clifton Park, pleaded to attempted burglary in the second-degree, a felony, charged April 2023. Sentencing Oct. 20. 

Angel M. Marrero, 51, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Aug. 21 to 6 months incarceration and 5 years probation, after pleading to felony criminal possession of a weapon, charged May 2023 in Saratoga Springs. 

Tyler J. Nash, 27, of Galway, pleaded to felony criminal possession of a weapon, charged March 2023 in Waterford, and criminal possession of stolen property, February 2023 in Wilton. Sentencing Oct. 16. 

Isaiah Whitehurst, 40, of Brooklyn, was sentenced Aug. 17 to 8 years incarceration in a state correctional facility, and 3 years post-release supervision. The sentencing is in connection with criminal possession of a controlled substance charges related to drug-dealing activities that took place Dec. 1 2022 in the town of Northumberland. 

Hernandez J. Hayes, 49, of Manhattan, was sentenced Aug. 17 to 15 years incarceration in a state correctional facility, and 5 years post-release supervision, in connection with criminal possession of a controlled substance charges regarding a March 2023 incident in Halfmoon. “Hayes was arrested as part of an investigation into drug dealing activities taking place across multiple counties after a search warrant was executed on his vehicle, which showed that he had more than 465 grams of cocaine and 16 ounces of fentanyl pills in his possession,” according to a press release issued by the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.   

Jordan Hensleigh, 32, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years for attempted assault on a state Uniformed Officer in the village of Ballston Spa in September 2022, and 2 to 4 consecutive years for violating a March 2022 court order in Saratoga Springs. 

Nicole M. Nelson, 49, of Ballston Spa, pleaded to felony DWI charged May 2023 in Malta. Sentencing Oct. 13. 

Cymry J. Brooks, 39, of Rochester, pleaded to aggravated family offense, a felony, charged March 2023 in Clifton Park. Sentencing Sept. 28. 

Saratoga Springs Police Department

Raki Johnson, 25, of Schenectady, was charged Aug. 20 with criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth-degree. Both charges are felonies. The arrests stem from an incident that occurred at approximately midnight in the area of  Caroline Street when an officer on foot patrol allegedly encountered a man in a vehicle that was parked with an expired registration. Upon further investigation, the officer observed a black handgun in the rear passenger compartment in plain view, police said. The gun was secured from the vehicle and determined to be a loaded 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun with nine rounds of ammunition, which had been reported as stolen to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina. Johnson was arraigned and sent to the custody of the Sheriff’s Office in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond, or $150,000 partially secured bond. 

Dennis Walsh, 46, of Galway, was charged with criminal contempt, and aggravated harassment. 

Jacob Hayner, 37, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with false personation. 

Kenneth Rossen, 60, of Corinth, was charged with false personation, aggravated unlicensed operation, and multiple vehicle related violations. 

Ronald Owen, 58, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with criminal tampering, and criminal mischief. 

Allyson McKinney, 35, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with assault. 

Adam Hill, 38, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with assault. 

David Hynes, 64, of Cornelius, North Carolina, was charged with DWI, refusal to take breath test, and various driving related violations. 

Rachel Dodge, 35, of Granville, was charged with assault. 

Catharine Crete, 39, of Moreau, was charged with assault, and criminal mischief. 

Perry Dow, 59, of Lake Luzerne, was charged with criminal mischief, and petty larceny.

Donald Errichetto, 45, of New Rochelle, was charged Aug. 11 with criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing. 

Jordan Jones, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Aug. 10 with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

Jennica Nash, 26, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Aug. 10 with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Rebekah Scott, 20, of Wilton, was charged Aug. 8 with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Netasha Carleton, 29, of Milton, was charged Aug. 7 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Saratoga County Court

Jose A. Colon, 53, pleaded to robbery in the second-degree, in connection with a May 2023 robbery on Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs. Colon admitted to punching a man and forcibly stealing his wallet following the late-night attack, according to a statement released by the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office. The victim was treated for a concussion and several facial lacerations at Saratoga Hospital. Colon is scheduled to be sentenced to 10 years in state prison, followed by 2-1/2 years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced Oct. 16, according to the statement issued by the county. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

Alicia L. Marcotte, 34, of Hadley was charged Aug. 16 with DWAI, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both charges are felonies. Marcotte is accused of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a drug on Hack Road in the town of Corinth on July 18, 2023

Saratoga Springs Police Department

Dennis Walsh, 46, of Galway, was charged July 31 with criminal contempt. 

Nicholas Sarchioto, 32, of Renssalaer, was charged July 30 with criminal mischief. 

Jordan Jones, 32, of Saratoga Springs, was charged July 29 with assault. 

Bradford Bayer, 36, of Greenfield Center, was charged July 28 with criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense.

Elijah Marks, 24, of North Little Rock, AR, was charged July 24 with criminal mischief. 

Luis Tapara Quispe, 26, of Beford Heights, OH, was charged July 24 with DWI, vehicle equipment violation, and moving from lane unsafely.

Kyle Trimboli, 29, of Albany, was sentenced to 60 days in local jail and 10 years probation after pleading to sexual abuse in the first-degree, charged November 2022 in Saratoga. 

Luis A. Vazquez, 53, of Schenectady, was sentenced to 5 days in local jail and 5 years probation, after pleading to DWAI, charged December 2022 in Clifton Park. 

Matthew Schlegel, 37, of Petersburg, NY, was sentenced to 1-1/3 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny. 

Eric B. Sahm, 46, of Liverpool, NY, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny, charged April 2023 in Wilton. 

Charles M. Starke, 55, of Mechanicville, pleaded to felony criminal contempt, charged May 2023 in Malta. Sentencing Sept. 25. 

Jose A. Colon, 53, of Saratoga Springs, pleaded to felony robbery, charged May 15, 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Oct. 16. 

Khalee J. Gooden, 30, of Glens Falls, pleaded to strangulation in the second-degree, charged December 2022 in South Glens Falls. Sentencing Oct. 11. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

On July 27, the Sheriff’s Office charged Jeremy D. Smith, 30, of Malta with failure to register a change of address within 10 days as a sex offender. He was sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond.  

NEW YORK State Police

On Aug. 9, State Police of Clifton Park charged Edward F. Storms, 30, of Halfmoon, with two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the second-degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. At about 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 9, Troopers responded to the area of Ocean Spray Boulevard in Halfmoon, for reports of a vehicle intentionally trying to strike children. The investigation determined Storms was reported to have recklessly operated his vehicle, nearly hitting two juveniles walking in the area after a verbal altercation with them. 

On Aug. 4, at about 11:15 p.m. State Police of Saratoga stopped a vehicle on State Route 9 in Saratoga Springs, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Niladri Ghoshal, 42, of Saratoga Springs.  Ghoshal was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.  

On Aug. 7, at about 7 p.m. State Police of Wilton stopped a vehicle on Butler Road in Moreau, for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Jay A. Sherman, 44, of Moreau.  Sherman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.14% BAC. Further investigation discovered Sherman has had multiple DWI convictions in the last 10 years. He was arraigned at the Moreau Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
