August 10 – 16, 2024

Saratoga County Court 

Rick C. Sweet, 36, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, and 1 year conditional discharged, after pleading to attempted assault in the second-degree felony, and menacing in the third-degree misdemeanor, respectively, charged January 2024 in Ballston Spa.   

Nicholas E. Harwood, 36, of Ballston Spa, pleaded to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree, charged April 2024 in Corinth. Sentencing Sept. 12. 

Leon Carney, 20, of Lake George, was sentenced to time served to be followed by 5 years probation, after pleading to disseminating indecent material to minors in the first-degree, charged in 2023 in Saratoga. 

Hasan A. Stubbs, 27, of Ballston Spa, was sentenced to 1-1/2 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to grand larceny in the fourth-degree. 

Donald Travis, 59, of Lake George, was sentenced to 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to failure to register as a sex offender, charged April 2023 in Saratoga Springs.

Ryan M. Jewett, 32, of Mechanicville, was sentenced to 29 years incarceration followed by 20 years post-release supervision in connection with his April 19, 2024 plea to Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child, and Rape in the second-degree. The conviction stems from an investigation by the Mechanicville Police Department that revealed Jewett had contact with a child victim from the age of 9, according to a statement released by Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. Jewett is currently also charged with patronizing a prostitute, and possession of a sexual performance by a child in Albany County Court, the district attorney said.   

William Kelone, 20, of Scotia, was sentenced to two terms of 2 to 6 years incarceration – to run concurrently – after pleading to two charges of burglary in the third-degree, one in Ballston and one in Moreau.  

Louis Reyes, 28, of Cohoes, was sentenced to 1-1/2 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to criminal contempt in the first-degree, charged May 2023 in Waterford.  

Kristen A. Yerry, 26, of Halfmoon, pleaded to attempted burglary in the third-degree, charged July 4, 2024. Sentencing Sept. 23. 

Courtney H. Worrock, 27, of Schenectady, pleaded to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, charged April 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 25. 

Jesus Antonio Menendez-Flores, 27, of Albany, pleaded to robbery in the first-degree, charged November 2023 in Halfmoon. Sentencing Sept. 6. 

Michael J. Kulls, 42, of Saratoga Springs, pleaded to felony DWI, charged January 2024 in Milton. Sentencing Sept. 23. 

Xavier O. Williams, 21, of Watervliet, was sentenced to 1 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to attempted assault in the second-degree, charged October 2023 in Halfmoon. 

Christopher J. Hance, 35, homeless, Saratoga Springs, pleaded to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree, a felony, charged March 1, 2022 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 24. 

Kevin S. Cuva, 51, homeless, Saratoga Springs, was sentenced to 1-1/2 to 3 years incarceration, after pleading to criminal contempt in the first-degree, a felony, charged February 2024 in Saratoga Springs.  

NY State Police 

State Police of Wilton stopped a vehicle on Saratoga Road in Wilton, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  The driver was identified as Joel J. Shattuck, 47, of Queensbury.  Also located in the vehicle was a child under the age of 16.  Shattuck was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law) and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  The child was turned over to a family member, and Shattuck was transported to SP Wilton for processing, where he recorded a 0.17% BAC.  He was issued tickets returnable to the Wilton Town Court and released to a sober third party.

State Police of Clifton Park were dispatched to the area of Longkill Road in Clifton Park, for the reports of a possibly impaired driver. A vehicle matching the caller’s description was located in the parking lot of the location. The driver was nearby and identified as Meaghan M. Kohls, 45, of Ballston Lake.  Kohls was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where she recorded a 0.29% BAC.  Further investigation discovered Kohls has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years.  She was issued tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on Aug. 28, and released to a sober third party.   

Week of August 3 – August 9, 2024 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

The Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on U.S. Route 9 in the town of Halfmoon after an ALPR hit for a suspended registration. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest and charges against James D. Trudeau, 62, of Cohoes for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 1st degree (class E felony), DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration (unclassified misdemeanors), and operating a motor vehicle without financial security (infraction). Trudeau is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition at a time when his driver’s license was revoked. He is also accused of operating a motor vehicle without financial security (insurance). He was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Halfmoon Town Court on a later date.

Leroy Prosser, III (age 52) Marcy, was arrested on a warrant for failure to notify a change of address within 10 days as a sex offender (class D felony). Prosser is accused of failing to make notification to authorities of a change of address within 10 days as required as a result of being a sex offender. He allegedly moved from his prior residence on June 9, 2023, and the charge was upgraded to a class D felony due to a previous conviction. Prosser was arraigned and sent to the custody of the state pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespassing call on Rowland Street in the town of Milton. As a result of the investigation into the complaint, Daryl R. Belanger (age 54) Milton was arrested and charged with criminal contempt in the 1st degree and aggravated family offense (class E felonies). Belanger is accused of violating an order of protection and of committing a specified offense under the statute having been convicted of a specified offense within the preceding 5 years. The criminal contempt charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous conviction within the preceding 5 years as well. He was arraigned in the Milton Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter. The following day, the Sheriff’s Office was called back to the same location for an area check after the victim had reported hearing someone knocking on her window. Belanger was arrested again for the same offenses when he was located laying in the woods across the street from the protected party’s residence. He was arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a property damage motor vehicle crash at the intersection of NYS Route 9P and Plains Road in the town of Malta. As a result of the investigation into the collision, Edward J. Young (age 72) Mechanicville, was arrested and charged with DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or greater (class D felonies), aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 1st degree (class E felony), operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device (class A misdemeanor), and failure to keep right (infraction).  Felony charges were upgraded due to 2 prior convictions within the preceding 10 years. Young was processed and released on appearance tickets at the direction of the Malta Town Court pending further action in the matter.

Week of July 27 – August 2, 2024

Saratoga County Court

Nicholas F. Bonfante, 44, of Halfmoon, was sentenced to 9 years incarceration and 5 years post-release supervision, after pleading to felony criminal sale of a controlled substance, charged in 2022. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

The Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Team, Saratoga Springs Police Department, and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, conducted a search warrant at the Roosevelt Motel in the town of Malta. The warrant was the culmination of a lengthy investigation into narcotics and illegal firearms sales within Saratoga County. 

As a result of the search warrant and investigation: 

Jason D. Brundige (age 50) of Saratoga Springs was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree (class B felonies), criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree (class C felony), criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree (class D felony), and criminal possession of a firearm (class E felony); 

Keella M. Weaver (age 39) of Malta was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree (class B felonies). 

Both were arraigned in the Malta Town Court. Brundige was sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail and Weaver was released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.  

Resulting from a traffic stop for allegedly failing to use designated lane and moving from lane unsafely in the town of Clifton Park, Teresa L. Jackson (age 45) of Malta was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th degree (class C felony), DWAI – drugs, AUO in the 1st degree (class E felonies), failed to use designated lane, moved from lane unsafely, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle (infractions). She is also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license, and of possessing a narcotic drug of an aggregate weight of 1/8 ounce or more. Jackson was arraigned in the Halfmoon Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespassing call on Oak Street in the village of Corinth. As a result of the investigation into the complaint, Anthony J. Rodriguez (age 26) of Corinth was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (class D felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree (class A misdemeanors). Rodriguez is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing a controlled substance with the intent to sell it. He is also charged with intentionally attempting to prevent a deputy from performing an official function. He was arraigned in the Corinth Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.

Resulting from an incident on Centerline Road in the town of Providence, Ethan J. Chase (age 34) Homeless, was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree (class C felony), criminal contempt in the 1st degree, and criminal mischief in the 3rd degree (class E felonies). Chase is accused of entering and remaining unlawfully in a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime therein. He is also charged with damaging property belonging to another person in an amount exceeding $250 and of violating an order of protection. Chase was arraigned in the Milton Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending further action in the matter.

Week of July 20 – July 26, 2024    

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

The Sheriff’s Office handled a call of an assault of a corrections officer at the Saratoga County. As a result of the investigation into the complaint, John A. Rathbun, 26, homeless was charged with assault in the 2nd degree (class D felony). Rathbun is accused of punching a corrections officer to his facial area and of biting him causing physical injury. The corrections officer was treated at a local healthcare facility and released.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an unknown motor vehicle crash on New York State Route 29 in the town of Milton. Investigation into the crash led to the arrest of Kyle J. Kilburn, 35, of Milton. Kilburn was charged with DWAI – drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 1st degree (class E felonies), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and resisting arrest (class A misdemeanors). Kilburn was the sole person involved in the collision. He is accused of operating a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by the use of a drug and the charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction within the preceding 10 years. It is also alleged that his driver’s license was revoked at the time of the crash. Additionally, Kilburn is charged with knowingly and unlawfully possessing a controlled substance and physically resisting deputies attempting to take him into custody. 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an inactive larceny on Hudson River Road in the town of Halfmoon. As a result of the investigation into the matter, Kristen A. Yerry (age 25) of Richford, VT. Was charged with burglary in the 2nd degree (class C felony) and grand larceny in the 4th degree (class E felony). Yerry is accused of entering and remaining unlawfully within a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime therein, and with stealing property from the residence with a value in excess of $1,000. Yerry was arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond, pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Jacob L. Merchant (age 25) of Malta with failure to report a change of address within 10 days as a sex offender (class D felony).  The charge was upgraded to a class D felony due to a previous conviction in 2023. He was arraigned and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending further action in the matter.

Saratoga County Court

James A. Topper, 28, of Galway, pleaded to felony DWI, charged February 2024 in Saratoga Springs, and felony DWI charged November 2023 in Malta. Sentencing Oct. 2. 

Terrance Crawford, 39, of Moreau, pleaded to rape in the second-degree, charged January 2024 in Saratoga Springs.  Sentencing Sept. 10. 

Dokotah McNabb, of Glens Falls, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to felony grand larceny, charged October 2023 in Moreau.

Marquin A. Blake, 33, of Schenectady, pleaded to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree, charged January 2024 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Sept. 9. 

Jamel D. Gray, 29, of Ballston Spa, pleaded to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, charged February 2024. Sentencing Sept. 9. 

Eugene F. Wachtel, 57, of Schenectady, pleaded to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, charged June 2023 in Clifton Park. Sentencing Oct. 22. 

NY State Police

State Police of Wilton charged Shana M. Firenze, 39, of Saratoga Springs, with Criminal Trespass in the second-degree, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first-degree, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

July 13 – 19, 2024

Saratoga County Court 

Sara N. Babinski, 35, of Schuylerville, was sentenced to 3 months incarceration/ 5 years probation, after pleading to felony DWAI, charged January 2024 in Saratoga Springs. 

Thomas R. McCall, 35, of Rensselaer, pleaded to criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree, in connection with a March 2024 incident in Saratoga Springs, when city police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on South Broadway and located a Magnum .357 revolver with ammunition underneath the driver’s seat, according to a statement by Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. Further investigation determined that the firearm belonged to the defendant, who also possessed heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine on his person, Heggen said. McCall is slated to be sentenced July 30.    

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call at a residence on Centerline Road in the town of Providence. It is alleged that Ethan J. Chase, 34, who is reportedly homeless, forced entry into the residence of his father Earl W. Chase, III, 66,  who resides at the Centerline Road address. Ethan Chase had allegedly made threats to kill his father both prior to forcing entry to the residence and while inside the residence. There is an order of protection in effect protecting Earl Chase from Ethan Chase. Earl Chase had armed himself with a shotgun while his son was attempting to make entry to the residence. He discharged a round containing bird shot at his son inside the residence after the latter refused to leave and began approaching Earl Chase and his wife while making threats to kill them, police said. The round struck Ethan Chase to his left shoulder. Ethan Chase was taken into custody and was transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to Blue Spruce Lane in the town of Malta for a report of a possible order of protection violation. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest and charges against Donovan R. Grose, 54, of Malta of criminal contempt in the 1st degree (class E felony). Grose is accused of violating an order of protection by failing to stay away from the protected party. He was reportedly observed outside of the protected party’s residence at the time of call. The charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction for criminal contempt in the 2nd degree within the preceding 5 years. Grose was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Malta Town Court on a later date. 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary to the Stewart’s shop on Longkill Road in the town of Clifton Park. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest and charged against Shaun A. Sheriff, 32, of Ballston Lake for burglary in the 3rd degree (class D felony) and petit larceny (class A misdemeanor). Sheriff is accused of entering and remaining unlawfully within a building with the intent to commit a crime therein. He is also charged with stealing cigarettes from the business. Sheriff was already incarcerated in the Saratoga County Jail on a separate burglary charge at the time of arrest. He is scheduled to appear in the Clifton Park Town Court on a later date for both cases.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an active domestic incident on Moe Road in the town of Clifton Park. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest and charges of Rebecca A. Wheland-Kruger, 51, of Clifton Park for criminal contempt in the 1st degree and aggravated family offense (class E felonies. Wheland-Krugar is accused of violating an order of protection by being present in the residence of the protected party. The charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction for criminal contempt in the 2nd degree within the preceding 5 years. She is also charged with committing a “specified offense” under the statute having been convicted of a specified offense within the preceding 5 years. Wheland-Kruger was sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond pending further action in the matter.

Week of July 6 – July 12, 2024

Saratoga  County Court

Lorenzo J. Parker, 28, of Schenectady, was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in a state correction facility and 1 year post-release supervision, after pleading to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth-degree, charged February 2022 in Clifton Park. 

Annmarie Balzano, 54, of Ballston Spa, pleaded to felony DWI, charged June 2023 in Malta. Sentencing Sept. 19. 

Cedric D. Sanchez, 28, of Yonkers, N.Y., pleaded to attempted burglary in the second-degree, charged in Milton. Sentencing Aug. 2. 

Matthew G. Peck, 46, of Saratoga Springs, pleaded to felony DWI, charged November 2023 in Milton. Sentencing Aug. 16. 

Lacey C. Weber, 46, of Stillwater, was sentenced to 5 days incarceration / 5 years probation, after pleading to felony DWI, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, charged August 2022 in Mechanicville. 

Tyrone T. Carter, 37, of Troy, pleaded to felony burglary, charged October 2023 in Waterford. Sentencing Aug. 29. 

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

The Sheriff’s Office attempted to perform a traffic stop on Church Hill Road in the Town of Halfmoon. After initially stopping his vehicle, Steven L. Devlin, 42, of Chohoes, allegedly fled from patrols, resulting in a low speed vehicle pursuit. The pursuit of Devlin travelled into the Town of Waterford, the City of Troy and subsequently onto 787 in the City of Cohoes where he was stopped and taken into custody. It is alleged that during the pursuit Mr. Devlin intentionally struck a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle. He was taken into custody and charged with the listed offenses: Driving while intoxicated, Failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, Aggravated unlicensed operation, Circumventing an ignition interlock device. Devlin was processed and released with traffic and appearance tickets, and is scheduled to appear in Halfmoon Town Court at a later date. 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to Home Depot in the Town of Halfmoon for a report of larceny. Following an investigation, Daniel R. Jennings Jr., 33, of Halfmoon, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny 4th (Class E Felony). It is alleged that Jennings stole merchandise from the store valued at over $1,700. He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court by Town Justice Federa and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Halfmoon Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to an active burglary on Schauber Road in the town of Clifton Park. As a result of the investigation into the complaint, Shaun A. Sheriff, 32, of Ballston Lake was arrested and charged with burglary in the 2nd degree (class C felony) and grand larceny in the 4th degree (class E felony). Sheriff is accused of entering and remaining unlawfully within a dwelling with the intent to commit a crime therein and of stealing credit cards belonging to the homeowner. He was sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail, bond, or partially secured bond pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Kaila M. Pascarella, 34, of Troy on a warrant issued by the Wilton Town Court for grand larceny in the 4th degree (class E felony) and conspiracy in the 5th degree (class A misdemeanor). Pascarella is accused of stealing property from Walmart in the town of Wilton on January 1, 2023, and of agreeing with one or more persons to engage in or cause the commission of a felony. She was released on an appearance ticket pending further action in the matter in Wilton court.

Investigation into a crash on Goode Road in Milton led to the arrest of Morgan E. McGrath, 23, Ballston Spa charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 1st degree (class E felony), DWI, and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or greater (unclassified misdemeanors). Additional charges included operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a revoked driver’s license.

Week of June 29 – July 5, 2024

Saratoga County Court 

Daniel H. Gudar, 47, of Saratoga Springs, pleaded to criminal mischief in the third-degree, a felony, charged December 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing Aug. 13. 

Ashley Vetrano, 35, of Glens Falls, was sentenced to 364 days incarceration, after pleading to robbery in the third-degree, charged March 2023 in Moreau. 

Dean J. Atwell, 35, of Middle Grove, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to grand larceny in the third-degree, charged Jan. 1, 2024 in Galway. 

Bo J. Effner, 41, of Rotterdam, was sentenced to 5 days incarceration/ 5 years probation, after pleading to felony DWI, charged October 2023 in Clifton Park. 

Alicia L. Marcotte, 35, of Hadley, was sentenced to 5 years probation, after pleading to DWAI, charged July 2023 in Corinth. 

Christopher DiLallo, 40, of Mechanicville, was sentenced to 364 days incarceration, after pleading to criminal contempt in the first-degree, charged March 2023 in Wilton. 

John A. Donaldson, 69, of Lackawanna, N.Y., pleaded to sexual abuse in the first-degree, a felony, charged in Milton. Sentencing Aug. 12. 

Christopher L. Crispell, 42, of Waterford, was sentenced to 2 to 4 years incarceration, after pleading to grand larceny in the fourth-degree, charged July 2023 in Stillwater. 

New York  State Police

New York State Police, with the assistance of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (South Carolina) and the United State Marshal Service, took custody of Siatar K Creech, 36.  Creech was arrested by State Police on Sept. 12, 2022, on a warrant for Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a class “C” felony, Rape in the Third Degree, a class “E” felony and Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, a class “E” felony.  He was arraigned the same day at the Ballston Spa Village Court, where he was released on his own recognizance. 

Creech failed to appear in court for the necessary proceedings, and on Oct. 11, 2023, the Saratoga County Court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.  The investigation determined Creech had allegedly fled New York and was residing in South Carolina.   In a joint agency effort, Creech was located in North Augusta, SC and on May 28, 2024, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office took him into custody.

Creech was extradited and returned to New York by New York State Police Investigators on June 11, 2024, and turned over to the custody of the Saratoga County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a sexual assault call that reportedly occurred on Lilith Fair in the town of Milton. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of Anthony J. Collins, 42, of Ballston Spa. Collins was charged with rape in the 1st degree (class B felony) and assault in the 3rd degree (class A misdemeanor). Collins was arraigned in the Milton Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Damian B. Ball, 27, of Corinth on an arrest warrant issued by the Wilton Town Court for burglary in the 3rd degree (class D felony) and petit larceny (class A misdemeanor. Ball is accused of stealing from Walmart in the town of Wilton on Sept. 28, 2023 after previously being banned from the business’ property. He was arraigned in the Wilton Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.

Week of June 22 – June 28

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on Main Street in the village of Corinth. Investigation into the matter resulted in the arrest of William J. Arnold, 25, of Corinth, charged with criminal mischief in the 3rd degree (class E felony). Arnold is accused of intentionally damaging a television and a PlayStation belonging to another person in an amount exceeding $250. He was arraigned in the Corinth Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.

Philip J. McCulloch, 36, of Halfmoon, and Tashawna S.D. Daniel, 38, of Cohoes, were each charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree (class E felony), in connection with a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of the city of Troy. McCulloch was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree. Both persons were released on appearance tickets returnable to the Halfmoon Town Court on a later date.

Aaron B. Mondore, 48, was charged with criminal mischief in the 3rd degree (class E felony) and criminal mischief in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor). Mondore is accused of intentionally damaging property belonging to another person in an amount exceeding $250 and of intentionally preventing that person from communicating a request for emergency assistance by physically taking their cellular telephone from them and throwing it into a pool. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Wilton Town Court on a later date.

Joshua D. Temple, 32, of Cohoes, was charged with bail jumping in the 2nd degree (class E felony). Temple is accused of failing to appear in court as directed for original charges of grand larceny in the 4th degree and a previous bail jumping in the 2nd degree charge from the same matter. He sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail pending further action in the matter in the Halfmoon Town Court.

Tyler J. Marley, 31, of Schenectady, was arrested on an arrest warrant for burglary in the 3rd degree (class D felony).  Marley is accused of stealing from the Home Depot in the town of Halfmoon on March 20, 2024, after having previously been noticed that he was forbidden to be in the store. He was released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.

Jacqueline Shafer, 47, of Schenectady, was arrested on a warrant for grand larceny in the 2nd degree (class C felony) and forgery in the 2nd degree (class D felony). Shafer is accused of stealing money in excess of $50,000 while employed at an apartment complex in the town of Malta between August 2021 and April 2022. She is also charged with falsely making, completing or altering a written instrument with the intent to defraud, deceive or injure another. She was released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.

Kenneth J. Rossen, 61, of Malta, was charged with possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree (class D felony), operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked registration, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 2nd degree (unclassified misdemeanors), improper plates, and improper or no signal (infractions). Rossen is accused of having a forged temporary license plate on his vehicle, of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, and of operating a motor vehicle while his license to do so was suspended three or more times on three separate dates for failure to answer a summons, appear, or pay a fine. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Clifton Park Town Court on a later date.

John B. Fleeman, 26, of Fort Edward, was arrested on a warrant issued from Saratoga Town Court for criminal contempt in the 1st degree (class E felony). Fleeman is accused of violating an order of protection by following the protected party and engaging in a verbal argument with them. The charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction for criminal contempt in the 2nd degree within the preceding 5 years. He was arraigned in the Galway Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending further action in the matter.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office 

A 20-year-old Watervliet man was charged with first degree manslaughter after allegedly “striking another person with a large wrench and causing that person’s death,” according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said they received a call of a fight in progress on Sparrow Drive in the town of Malta and the Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of Cyrus J. Tetreault, 20, of Watervliet. 

The victim was identified as 53-year-old Malta resident Brian M. Miller. 

“It is truly tragic that this situation resulted in a loss of life,” county Sheriff Michael Zurlo said in a statement. “I am grateful for the professional response of the men and women of my agency and for the quick identification and arrest of the person responsible.” 

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacques S. Boisvert, 45, and Jacques A. Boisvert, IV, 20, of Malta on arrest warrants for criminal possession of stolen property in the 3rd degree (class D felony). The charges stem from an allegation that they possessed a stolen trailer that had a value in excess of $3,000. The original call was received by the Sheriff’s Office on April 23, 2024, and occurred on Hubbs Road in the town of Malta. The elder Boisvert was released to pretrial services while the younger was released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on Sacandaga Road in the town of Galway. As a result of the investigation into the matter, Gerrod M. Jones, 40, of Galway, was charged with strangulation in the 2nd degree (class D felony). Jones is accused of placing another person in a chokehold resulting in loss of consciousness. He was arraigned in the Galway Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an inactive larceny at the Northway Golf Center on Crescent Road in the town of Halfmoon. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of Clayton J. Callan (age 37) Malta, charged with falsifying business records in the 1st degree and grand larceny in the 4th degree (class E felonies). Callan is accused of stealing from the store in an amount exceeding $1,000. Additionally, he is charged with falsifying the store’s business records with the intent to defraud and to commit another crime. He was arraigned in the Halfmoon Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call of an inactive burglary at Fuller’s Corner Store in the town of Edinburg. Investigation into the complaint led to the arrest of Kerrilyn S. Polite, 41, of Northville, charged with burglary in the 3rd degree (class D felony). Polite is accused of entering and remaining unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime therein. She was arraigned in the Edinburg Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further action in the matter.

Justin Franz, 39, of Cohoes, pleaded to robbery in the second-degree, charged July 2023 in Mechanicville. Sentencing Aug. 2. 

Alia M. Sullivan, 39, of Hadley, pleaded to felony DWI, charged July 2023. Sentencing Junly 29. 

Lovell T. Roper, 31, of Manhattan, was sentenced to 2-1/2 years incarceration/ 1 year post-release supervision, after pleading to felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, charged September 2020 in Moreau. 

Raymond K. Sedlak, 67, of Waterford, pleaded to DWI, and Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, charged Jan. 1, 2024. Sentencing Aug. 1. 

Leona McLean, 32, of Albany, was sentenced to 5 years probation, after pleading to criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth-degree, charged February 2023 in Malta.

Saratoga County Court

Matthew J. Gifford, 31, of Saratoga Springs, was sentenced to 5 days incarceration and 5 years probation, after pleading to felony DWI, charged February 2024 in Saratoga Springs. 

Kevin P. Masterson, 52, of Mechanicville, was sentenced to 6-1/2 years incarceration / 5 years post-release supervision, after pleading to criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree, charged May 2023. 

Shawn Flores, 45, of Milton, pleaded to criminal contempt in the first-degree, charged February 2024. Sentencing July 30. 

Nicholas F. Bonfante, 44, of Halfmoon, pleaded to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second-degree, a felony, charged March 2022. Sentencing July 10. 

Sherman J. Chambers, 50, of Albany, was sentenced to 3 to 6 years incarceration, after pleading to criminal mischief in the second-degree, a felony. During the early morning hours of Aug. 20, 2023, Chambers entered the parking lot of Saratoga Honda “and proceeded to forcibly remove the tires from a parked vehicle as well as steal a variety of personal items from several other vehicles,” according to statement released by Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen on May 28. Chambers pleaded guilty and was sentenced as a second felony offender to 3 to 6 years incarceration, as well as being ordered to pay full restitution to Saratoga Honda, Heggen added.   

Janelle F. Eberts, 60, of Schuylerville, pleaded to felony DWAI, charged October 2023 in Saratoga Springs. Sentencing July 31.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested James L. Shaw, III, 34, of Mechanicville on a warrant issued by the Halfmoon Town Court for criminal mischief in the 3rd degree (class E felony) and criminal trespass in the 2nd degree (class A misdemeanor). The original incident allegedly occurred on June 22, 2020, on Hudson River Road in the town of Halfmoon:, Shaw is accused of intentionally damaging a kitchen door belonging to another person in an amount exceeding $250 and of entering or remaining unlawfully in a dwelling. He was released pending an appearance in the Halfmoon Town Court on a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an unresponsive male in a vehicle stopped in the lane of travel in the area of Legends Way in the town of Clifton Park. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Benjamin T. VanDusen, 31, of Clifton Park, charged with DWI (class E felony), failure to keep right, and parking on the highway (infractions). VanDusen is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. The charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction within the preceding 10 years. He was arraigned in the Halfmoon Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further action in the matter.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop for speeding on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs. As a result of the stop and further investigation, Alexa C. Dalberto, 35, of Stillwater, was charged with DWI (class E felony), and speeding (infraction). The charge was upgraded to a felony due to a previous conviction within the preceding 10 years. She was released on an appearance ticket pending further action in the matter.

New York State Police

State Police of SP Saratoga, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested Jordan D. Pregent, 24, of Saratoga Springs, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony. Pregent is accused of knowingly possessing digital media of a performance of sexual conduct by a child less than 16 years of age.  Pregent’s arrest followed an investigation stemming from a cyber tip received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Pregent was arrested and processed at SP Saratoga.
