American Legion Monthly Meeting

Historical Sewing Sessions

Brookside Museum, 21 Fairground Ave. Ballston Spa | 1 p.m. Historical Sewing Sessions for Reenactors & those Looking to Volunteer at Saratoga 250 Events: Caps & Accessories. Come and enjoy an afternoon of stitching, tea, and camaraderie as we share information, resources, and ideas for clothing that can be worn during upcoming events related to the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution with a focus on caps and accessories. Monthly Indoor Craft and Garage Sale 

Saratoga-Wilton Elks Club, 1 Elks Lane, Saratoga Springs | 11-3 p.m. Admission is free. Over 40 vendors, great parking, crafts galore, and lunch. Lots of shopping with necklace sets, earrings, Scentsy, Baby Burp Cloths, Legos, 2-3x clothing, as well as household items, knitted and hand-made items, food treats, antiques and vintage items, and just about anything you can imagine.  New vendors sign up every month.  A fun activity the entire family enjoys.  All proceeds go to local charities.   8’ table and chairs $15.  Email Debbie deborahozolins@gmail.com for information or to sign up for a table(s). Garden Club Meeting

4-H Training Center, 556 Middleline Rd., Ballston Spa | 11 a.m.  The Thymly Herb Garden Group will hold its monthly meeting. If the Ballston Spa School District has a delay or closes that day, we will not meet. Bring your favorite garden tool to share with the group. Blood on the Clocktower

Science on Tap

Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Come early to get a bite to eat. The talk will start promptly at 7 p.m. Speaker, Kurt Smemo, a Professor and Chair of the Environmental Studies and Sciences Department at Skidmore College, will talk about Alternate Roots: navigating the complex relationship between fungi and forest trees. Kurt is an ecosystem scientist with more than 30 years of experience in forest and soil science. Photography Club

Galway Public Library, Community Room, 2112 East Street, Galway | 6 p.m. This month Jeff Nadler will present his multi-media show, Wild Adirondack Journey II, which will take you to the Adirondack habitats of wildlife, as well as scenes of lakes, waterfalls, and mountains. Anyone interested in photography regardless of their experience level is encouraged to attend these relaxed and friendly gatherings. 100 Days to Belmont

Eighth-annual Winter/Miller Lecture

Skidmore College, 815 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs | 6 p.m. Acclaimed artist creates bold, graphic work that confronts today’s most urgent issues. The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces the eighth-annual Winter/Miller Lecture, to be delivered by the acclaimed artist Nina Chanel Abney. Abney, who is known for her bold, graphic paintings, creates stunning works that challenge viewers to confront issues of race, gender, pop culture, and politics.
