Holiday Trains Coming to Saratoga County

There’s something magical about trains around Christmas.
Whether it be the scenes of an enchanted ride to the North Pole to see Santa, a train circling a Christmas tree or winter village, or even just the sight of thousands loading onto cars to be with their families for the holidays, the sight of a train around Christmas has becoming an enduring symbol of the holidays.
With Christmas less than 100 days away, there are two holiday trains that will be rolling through Saratoga County in November. Here is a rundown of how to see those trains when they come through Saratoga County.
Operation Toy Train.
Operation Toy Train will be making its appearance in Saratoga County on Saturday November 14, 2026. Operation Toy Train is a charity effort which collects toys for Toys for Tots and other local toy drives. This year, Operation Toy Train will visit 69 cities and towns across five states, utilizing 10 different train lines. This year, the initiative aims to collect over 50,000 toys for kids in need.
Operation Toy Train will be making three stops in Saratoga County along the Saratoga Corinth and Hudson Railway, a heritage train line which operates in the northern part of the county. The first stop will be LaMothe Landing at 101 Canty Road in the Town of Greenfield. The train will be in Greenfield from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The next stop is in the Town of Corinth, where it will be at the Corinth Station, 9 Railroad Place, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.
The train’s final stop will be in the Town of Hadley where it will make an appearance at Hadley Station, 4113 Rockwell Street from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Visitors to the train are encouraged to bring new unwrapped toys for donation. Toys collected will benefit the Town of Greenfield Toy Drive, the Troop 4021 Bobby Lucia Toy Drive in Corinth, and the Hadley Business Association Toy Drive. During the visits, children will have the ability to visit Santa while the trains are in the station.
This is not the only visit Operation Toy Train will make to New York. On Dec. 5, Operation Toy Train will visit Central New York between Syracuse and Binghamton and several stops along the Pennsylvania-New York border on Dec. 6.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern Holiday Train
On November 25, the CPKC Holiday Train will roll through Saratoga County and make a stop in Mechanicville.
The brightly lit train will stop at 300 Park Ave in Mechanicville from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will feature a concert by the American Authors and Rafaëlle Roy. Those going to the concert are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or financial donation for a local food bank.
While Mechanicville may be the only stop in Saratoga County, it’s not the only way to see the train in the county. The train will enter Saratoga County in Waterford and proceed north, running parallel to the Hudson River. After the stop in Mechanicville, the train will go west to Ballston Lake and go northeast past Ballston Spa and Saratoga Springs until its next stop in Fort Edward on Nov. 26 at 2:45 p.m.
